Hey im jsut wondering if it is ok to put tin foil underneath my plants so that the underside of the leaves get light? is that healthy for the plant? also i want to remove some of my fan leaves bc they are obsurdly large and my other leaves on the plant doesnt get any light, is it ok to just pick some off? or like one every day due to stress? or what, i need some advice... thanks.

Foil causes heat spots...

If the fan leaves were supposed to come off they would do so by themselves.. They are what collects the energy for the plant. You will also stress them out just pinching off random stems. Just no good.

i dont want to jynx it, but i have been pretty sucessful with my plant growing as a newb, last summer i grew something outside, yeild was as small as could be but was my first time growing, i always wondered why everyone has problems growing, guess its just good luck idk. Honestly i dont think as growing weed is thhis crazy hard thing to do, just like growing any other type of plant, hence the name weed (its a weed) lol. But i really dont know the temperature, i dont really record that stuff, nor ph humidity ppm all that, just threw a light in and grew. i think it might have been a little hot tho, i just put my fan on high now so it should cool down bc i have a hole in the walla that goes otuside bc that is my laundry room but i currently dont have a dryer or washer so yeah, thats like the ventilation for the dryer, pretty cool.

I have heard many opinions about removing fan leaves. It seams there's just as many people for the removal of fan leafs as there are against the removal.

Not in the early stages of development... Tell me someone who cuts fan leaves during veg????? If they do they are fucking idiots..

True that, It's really not as hard as people make it out too be.. The problems occur when people think they aren't doing enough and then the over do it.. Or they are just lazy as hell.

And i dont usally keep the door oppen, only sometimes. Also i mentioned there is a ventilation hole in the wall that goes outside.

I don't know, man. Bad ph is one of the fastest ways to kill a plant. But if you've made it this far then whatever you're doing there is probably fine. As far as the ventilation, just remember to take advantage of the natural temperature properties of air. If your main source of ventilated air is up high, you want your fan at the opening blowing all the hot air out. If your source is lower, you want the fan blowing in to draw in the cool air down low. It would be best to have one high opening and one low, with fans at each. They don't have to be big holes. ~6" Then again if its like 90 degrees outside, you'll want to have that closet door open and the fan(s) blowing out.

No tin foil..... use MYLAR. If you don't want to buy a roll then get a couple of mylar balloons from the supermarket and use the side without print. If it's a small area a couple of the balloons taped together should do the job.

thanks for the advice with the ventilation=] really helped. Also i know now not to bc of the hot spots. And yeah that was my question if it was ok to cut off the healthy ones bc of the shade it is making on the other plants, but i know i cant now and it is fine the way it is and if they needed to go the plant would know and they would die off soon. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I have another question tho, its alright if i tie down the plants like so that they stick outward so there is more room, so when the plants get bushier but like slowly tighten the strings right? like not that much at once bc they can snap?

Search LST or low stress training. People do exactly what you're talking about all the time but there are some specifics I'm not too familiar with like how to tie the plant without restricting stem growth. I've never had to use these techniques but they're good for space restrictions and getting light to lower leaves. Obama '08!!!!!!!!
