Is it possible to tell sex this early?

Hi all,

Just after a little help sexing my 1 and only plant... I posted this about 1 month ago (https://www.rollitup.org/outdoor-growing/375203-opinions-please-pics.html) and have since planted into ground and gave it lots of love :-P:-P. It has been in the ground for 4 weeks and looks like it is going strong to me!

I took these photos today as I read that it is possible to sex a plant in mid veg stage. I wont post my opinions but does anyone believe this plant can be sexed yet and if so male or fem?

Cheers.

Thanks bigv,

Any indication of how long before signs will appear. If it helps, I would expect flowering to kick off in about 4 weeks as thats when days will start to slowly shorten here.

This is my first grow so appreciate any help.

Hi Everyone,

Well its been about a month since I last posted pics of my plant. Seems to be going great so far, about 5 feet tall and going strong... But, my main reason for posting is that I think I have the positive signs of a FEMALE and wanted some confirmation from anyone more experienced than me as this is my first grow. I'm 99% the signs are there for a fem :-P:-P:-P:-P:-P:-P:-P:-P:-P:-P:-P

Also a few other questions -

1. I have found a few little bugs on the plant lately (see pic) and have just sprayed it with an outdoor citrus plant insecticide so hopefully that should clean them up. Thoughts?

2. As I'm sure you can tell, this is an outdoor grow and the weather has been SO wet for the last month.... It has been very cloudy and not too much bright direct sunshine. The plant seems to be going well but I notice at a change in the appearance at the base of the stem (see stem pic).... Is this root rot? If so how do I fix it? or am I worrying about nothing?

Any help is appreciated just like bigv's reply a few weeks ago. PLEASE TELL ME ITS A FEMALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS ALL :bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:

yep..you got a girl...and the stem looks fine...it might be just trying to strengthen its stem system...has there been a lot of wind around where you are?

yeah there has been quite alot of wind where the plant is. And I topped it and have been pulling the 2 main branches (LSTing) apart from one another to let more light in to the lower half of the plant..

Also apart from the bugs curling the leaves with their thin webs, what damage can mites, bugs and small spiders do to the plant?

So so so so so so happy I have a FEM!!!

yeah..i would say your stems are fine...as it comes to the webs...sounds like spider mites..they can be a bitch to get rid of and can cause damage...i do all my grows indoors and have not had much of a bug problem....but from waht ive seen there are a few things on the market out their for spider mites...someone that has dealt with them and killed them might have a better answer for that

Congrats on your girl!!! That bug looks like an aphid to me. If you have webs and really tiny spiders, thats spider mites. You should google them and see. Both, especially mites will kill your plant. They suck the juices out of it. Regular spiders are good, they eat the bad bugs! Heres a link for bug help! https://www.rollitup.org/bugs/

cheers for the help no balls,

I think I have both ahpids and spider mites..... ahhhh gotta get onto them straight away! :wall: lots of reading to be done!! cheers for the link.

Hi all,

I posted this in marijuana plant problems section but haven't had a reply yet... I would really appreciate if someone could help me as I dont know what to do....

I will try to keep it very quick. I have just discovered what I think is major problems with my first plant. Here is some important info-

- Has vegged for approx 2 months and is now about 2 weeks into flower.
- Outdoor grow.
- I live on the East coast of Aus.

The plant looked like this 1 week ago -

About 5 days ago I gave my plant its first dose of "Searles Liquid Potash Plus Fruit & Bloom Booster" and since then I have had extremely heavy rainfalls.

The lower foliage of the plant now looks like this -

I suspect this is a Phosphorus (P) deficiency as the potash mix is only 4%. I started to use this as I thought the P should be reduced when flowering starts??

Out of panic I went and bought Miracle grow maxfeed (NPK - 15/13/12) as I thought it would assist in boosting the (P), but thought it would be sensible to ask more knowledgable people bofore smashing my plant with more nutes....

I WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR ANY ASSISTANCE AS I DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE THIS PLANT!!! PLEASE.........

sorry stefan,

I've known its a girl for some time but I posted this update in here as I'm desperate to solve a problem with my plant....

Look at the latest pics and if you could provide any help I would greatly appreciate it!!!!

Your Phos. def. could be due to ph lockout. With all the rain you've had the ph of the soil is probably too low. When the ph is off, your plant can't absorb the nutrients that are there. Its unusal for an outdoor plant, but with so much rain it could happen. Is this happening to the entire plant or just the lower branches? Do you have a way to shield it from more rain? Can you take the ph of your soil? My GUESS is its too low.
