Is it possible, to say harvest your bud and then if you had a bud that had stem coming from the bottom, to re-plant it in soil and be able to grow the bud more and the stem branch out and become the root system?

No, simply not possible to root a bud. Smoke the bud, break off the stem.

This is completely incorrect.

Yes, you can clone a bud after harvest, and put it back into veg, and re-flower it. Getting the stem to root would be the hardest part, your chances are slim at that point, however if the bud hasnt been dried yet, it is possible. If you search around, there are pictures of it done. Looks like a plant growing out of a nug.

Like I said, it IS possible, but not very easy.

Without fan leaves, yes, I suppose rooting would be impossible. I was assuming a freshly cut, untrimmed nug.
