Is it time for me to Top?

Newbie to growing so I wanted to know if these plants look mature enough to top.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The plants are 20 days old.

yes, they have hit 5/6 sets of leaves, good to top IMO

In your opinion would you always top?

This is my first grow and they seem to be doing well and I do not want to disturb that.

But it seems like everyone tops their plants. Does it increase the yield significantly?

i believe it does. some people like the really big top cola that you can only get from no toppping. ie christmass tree formation. Topping is better for height control and plant management IMO, but many people let them run without. i think the weaker your light source the more important it is to top and maintain a level canopy. so CFLs or mars blurple lights, should be topped. 1000w DE HPS or COB LEDs, not as important because of the penetration. this is more of a personal decision on how you want to grow though. see the following methods:

I have a few I topped, and a few I didn't, but results are unclear since they were all different strains. Now I am starting a few clones and will do a real comparison. Also testing t5 vs LEDs for veg. But I am happy with one I topped that gave me 6 nice heavy buds and tons of smaller ones

I topped them yesterday.

If for no other reason than to control their height. I don't want them to be too tall. I also wanted to force the plant to put more energy into the lower branches. I could have went with some LST but decided I was simply going to top it once and go from there and see what I get.

I topped mine several times over and did LST all over the place. They're barely 18" tall but super bushy. And there are buds growing everywhere.
