Dunno about being Elmer, but he is a racist idiot who represents Trumper idiots and racists. Gohmert is a symptom of the disease of hate and fear among his supporters, Trump owns them and Gohmert too. The 40%+ who support Trump are most concentrated in the old south and the 1st district of Texas is petty racist, I figure Trump's support in the middle of the country is a lot softer than most people think. If Biden wins the democratic nomination the fact that he is "white as snow" will make a big difference with many of these Trump leaning voters.
I don't believe Trump has picked up any new voters since 2016, in fact, he lost millions of conservatives and others who walked away from the republican party in disgust. No patriot could vote for the republicans, they support treasion, corruption, the destruction of the constitution and the rule of law. The GOP is a fascist party now and has been since Trump took over what had become a racist organization, they gave a political home to racism and bigotry and it took them over and consumed them. If the GOP wins in 2020, say goodbye to democracy, the rule of law and the constitution, America will become a fascist state and Trump will be it's absolute ruler, not just above the law, but the law itself.

No it won't. It will suck for poor people and human rights that the Republicans like to use as a foil, but America will mostly be fine. Unless Russia wants a war, its on Putin how this all goes down.

Once you lose it, you might find it hard to get it back. America is nothing special, it's happened before, in Germany for instance, Hitler never got more than 33% of the vote, he took the rest. In America today over 42%+ of the electorate support Trump in everything he does, he cheated to win in 2016 and has been caught red handed cheating in the 2020 election and it appears he is set to get away with it this time too. If he gets away with it again he will be desperate to win and has compromised a lot of people who will go along for the ride in an attempt to avoid prison. If he is acquitted in the impeachment trial he will have a lot of Russian help and money, he is desperate and so is Putin. This is not politics as usual, it's war, they want and need to win at ALL COSTS, nothing will stand in their way, if Trump loses the next POTUS will have to take the WH by force. Trump will evict the secret service and surround the place with MAGA hatted supporters while claiming a "rigged" election. If the senate remains in GOP hands they will support everything he does and the courts would take months, if not years to rule and then he would just ignore them.
Trump with Russian help would think nothing of wiping out the congress (republicans too) in a nerve gas attack leaving Trump as the sole government in the land. Only the means to do so stand in the way and there are plenty of republican congressmen who would help with such an attack, if they were sure they could get away with it. You are dealing with desperate people and the base doesn't care about anything except their hate.
What do think is gonna happen to Russia and Putin if the democrats win it all in 2020? They know and fear the worst, when the regular national security people are back in the saddle there will be Hell to pay. Like I said you are dealing with desperate people and anything is possible, the stakes for them are life and death. This is not an election, it is a war and too many Americans think of this situation as politics as usual, it's not, the Russians have found and exploited America's "fatal flaws", massive racism and a weak antiquated constitution. Trump has been punching holes through the American constitution for years, it's only as good as the people who are enforcing it. The FEC doesn't even have a quorum and it's almost powerless and will remain so, no measures have been taken to secure the 2020 election and no money allocated for it. A close election will be stolen by Trump and probably cause a civil war.

We are not 1930s Germany fortunately. The Democrats will likely not do anything except draw in closer to their world allies and strengthen those bonds, and try to end the disinformation campaigns in the way they can.
If Putin starts a war though it is different ending but Russia won't win that one either.

A lot of people are still wrapped up in the trolling but more and more I am seeing the major (real) news companies catching on to what has been happening to everybody and are getting enough information out now to legally announce it to push back.

Agreed, I believe that is Trump's end game.
I feel optimistic that in this situation, army would step in and enforce martial law, to uphold the constitution.
From Supreme Court judges, to Army generals in his pocket though, makes me nervous for 2020 as well.

The democrats would be crazy not to go all out on Russia while removing the republicans unfair electoral advantages of voter suppression, gerrymandering and dark money (H.R.-1). Putin cried tears of rage when the old soviet union went down and there are plenty of US intelligence officials and potential appointees who are doing the same right now. They WILL NOT allow this situation to arise again and will go after Russia and Putin with hammer and tongs, Russia will be in deep trouble and they know it. The democrats will investigate this whole fiasco as a prophylactic and as a way of destroying the republican chances in 2022 and 2024. Laws will take the place of the "gentlemen's agreements" of the past and constitutional "holes" will be patched. Racism is a national security threat and will be treated as such, it is a fatal flaw that all future republican presidential candidates will and in fact must exploit, the base will expect nothing less. The next "Trump" will not be nearly as stupid as this one and if this idiot can put toddlers in cages, one with an actual brain and a plan can do the same with minorities and "liberals".
Like I said, the Nazis and Hitler only got 33% of the vote in 1933 and the Weimar republic had serious constitutional flaws too. America has close to 50% of the population willing to support a fascist dictatorship and are willing to not just ignore obvious treason, legal and constitutional violations, but enthusiastically support it in the face of overwhelming evidence. As I stated, they are at war and have that mindset, you are at peace and think reason will win the day, it does not work with Trumpers, out voting them by a wide margin might. I've given up on using facts and reason with these people and I've observed you aren't having much luck using them either. Nice try though, I appreciate your efforts and moderation, but you are not speaking to fellow Americans, you are speaking to dishonest traitors motivated by malice. No Trumper here has a shred of character or personal integrity and they make up all the trolls and sock puppets on this site.
If you manage to squeak through this mess and the democrats win, drastic measures will have to be taken to insure the security of the nation and it's elections. The next republican president will be smarter and even more evil than Trump, he will know that the key to victory will be "getting the brown folks". What kind of republican party do you think Trump will leave behind?

I hope you are right, a narrow victory will be stolen by Trump and a GOP senate will keep America frozen. The courts should be ruling on matters concerning the president where there is ample precedent in weeks not months or years, this is a failure that Trump is exploiting and completely unessarary, I figure the SCOTUS is afraid Trump will ignore them and the senate will support him, along with the GOP base.

Yeah I don't see it that way, The world and our government has been improving human rights, the Republicans right now are representing the push back on that, the Russians punched us hard with their online disinformation campaign but we have/are waking up to it now. Trump cannot govern, neither can the Republicans since they started on the long road of grabbing as much of the governmental power for the White Heterosexual Male agenda as they could lock down for as long as possible.
They are slowly getting it pried from their hands by people who want to govern for everyone responsibly. The Russians used this to co-opt the Republicans voting base and the rest of the vulnerable groups online to turn them against Hillary Clinton using a combination of 'hate' groups be it hate of the establishment, women, racial groups, immigration, etc that they used to suppress the vote in key states to get Trump elected.
Americans now know what is going on and the Russians may control the Republicans and Trump right now, but the Free Press now gets it and they can't hide it.

Apparently 47% of the American public doesn't get it or doesn't care and the free press doesn't seem to have much of an influence on them, FOX news and obscure right wing publications are where they get their news. All Trump has to do is shut the fuck up and stay off twitter and his poll numbers will magically rise by 10 points. The slightest misstep by the democrats will mean a victory for fascism in America and besides I'm sure the Russians have a few surprises in store to shake things up. It's racism and bigotry that are the core of their support and the root of the problem, not much else, these other "grievances" are a smoke screen, one encouraged by the media. Trump's support in spite of his obvious defects and treason say it all, they fucking near impeached Obama for wearing a tan suit for fuck sake. They whined and bitched about his wife's arms and ignore the nude photos and porn history of the current first lady. This is a large majority of the white population we are talking about here, over 75% of white males support Trump and they do it because of bigotry and racism period.
I hope you are right though and I try to be optimistic myself, but you'll need a landslide to fix America and make any meaningful and effective changes. The next "Trump" will be a lot smarter than this one and all he has to do is blow the racism dog whistle to get almost half the vote, look at what this creature Trump did and he was and is a total asshole and idiot with a long criminal past. If he gets away with this shit he is gonna try to cheat again, he will fire the FBI director and appoint another Bill Barr type to run it, the senate will confirm whoever he wants. Still no FEC quorum yet and there won't be one either. Everyday is a scandal and his base does not care.

But I would point out most Americans are not paying attention, they hear things, but they got shit to do and are out doing it, they won't start paying attention until the conventions when the fun stuff starts.
