Is my CFL to close?

I just bought a new CFL, 40 watts, (150 eq.) It's a monster bulb, but i was wondering if it was too close to my plants. I just sprouted 3 babys, all about 1 inch tall and the light is about an inch maybe 2 away. Should I move it back some?

Oh and I meant "too" for the title.

CFLs do not produce alot of heat. If you can put your hand 1 inch away from the bulb and not feel heat your golden. If it is too hot for your hand its to hot for you plants.

hand test always works. Put it at the top of your plants, and like the member said above me, if its too hot for you then its too hot for your plants.
