Come check out our DWC club bro. Lighting is a key elemant in growing. But its really kinda simple. Ive posted some links on what u need to know when it comes to this.DWC is awesome. U will have success.

All things are possible if you meet the suggested standards required that is suggested for ur particular style of growth.
Nick fury is right. U need the right type of light. Different spectrums and different types of light per each stage of growth.

Bro , I did everything trust me . But it was my first cfl . Now I'm in my second SOG with CFLs with a DWC and I think I can make improvements on my yeild this time around . Made some adjustments to my lights and boxes . Starting from clones this time . Hoping to get .75 per this time around.

I grew with cfls for awhile and not going to get into that whole war..In some stealth instances, CFLS are the only option. And u can still proudly smoke a bud grown from cfls to. I Still veg with cfls cuz my halide just vegges them to fast and hard for the requirements of my flower area.
However cfls are no longer allowed in my grow area. I began supplementing them slowly but surely until they were gone with cheapy inexpensive hps fixtures i bought from home depot in the home security isle. Easy to set up and burn about as hot as 6 42 watt cfls combined. Other alternatives are available to growers that want to yield awesome mature bud. In less amount of space and lower heat.

so what would you suggest hps-wise for 8 bonzai plants in DWC?
how many watts? cost? lumens? kelvins?

i dont have a home depot or lowes in my area, what about city mill?

Hahaha never noticed ur avatar till now that shit is tight! The way U want to set ur lighting up in ur grow room is that U want to measure the exact area in which ur plants GRow under in VEG or Flower. Choosing the right lighting is key for each plant stage of growth.
I use cfls to veg currently because my halide grows them to hard and fast for my particular grow at the moment*. U can get away with simply using 2 or 3* 42 watt cfls (Blue) daylight spectrum. And easily VEG a couple plants with no problems to 12 inches.Maybe more. Mine are completely growing out of my veg spot as we speak. And im going to have to cut weekly @ this point.
In flower Use HPS.Ive tried it all. The way U discern the proper amount of hps to put over ur plants in flower is really simple actually. U want 50 watts minimum per square foot. U simply achieve this by adding up the grow room. FOR instance. Take 3 X 3 this equals 9 sq.ft.. Then all u do is X that by 50. 9 X 50= 450 watts of hps for that area. U could squeeze them down and do nice with a 400 watter. But I reccomend go bigger. Im currently @ 67.777 watts/sq.ft..Wish i was @ 100 lol. The more light the better.

Hope that helps

lol thanks about the avatar. i cant find hps in the lighting area of city mill tho. hmmmm odd. well ive had 4 lights shining on 9 plants and they are all maxed out of space because the pot sizes are a huge consumption of space. can you finish a whole grow of 1 plant in like a 2.5 gallon container?

one of my plants directly under the 23w cfl is wilting dramatically. i think its getting too much light and idk how this is possible with what every1 in the forums are telling me about how i got puny light. at this point i need to hurry my grow and get some buds out of it cause my grandma's coming over in february and at the rate their going its pretty lame.

You should consider buying an air cooled hood designed for horticulture. The reflectors designed for growing are far more effective. They even make miniature hoods now for 250 HPS's. Every bit of light that is lost because your reflector is ineffective, is money/energy down the drain. A little more money now, more yield later...

hey, how about some pics of your plants. can help more sometimes if you can see your setup, medium, environment, pots, etc.
