Is There a Better Time to Pollinate a Plant?

I've pollinated plants before and never thought about this but today this question just popped into my mind, is it better to pollinate before the night cycle or before the day cycle ? Or maybe it doesn't make any difference ?

Pollinate when the female has quite a big group of hairs by her nodes and when the male has a lot of open flowers.

Usually during the 2nd/3rd week after the flowers are formed.

I'd guess before night cycle could be better

I was hoping that someone else would know, as I have no clue. My knowledge of pollination timing barely extends to what's already been said here, I'm afraid.
