Is there a correlation between red pistols (on buds) and trichome color?

Im almost 6 weeks into flowering and am starting to get a really decent amount of red pistols on the buds, is there a correlation between them and trichome color? I only have clear/cloudy trichs, am i suppose to have amber trics with the red pistols? Because i dont lol

Thanks,
Chris

In general quite a few pistils will age (turn color) before the trichomes turn amber. But they are not that far apart. It sounds like you're nearing time. Perhaps you're even there. Most new growers harvest too early.

To be honest, with what you've described I think 2-3 weeks sounds about right. From the description.

My friend, sneak one of those little bottom buds that I'm sure are there. Take a lower branch and start curing. You'll be smoking some of your own while you're trimming the rest of the plant. bongsmilie

My excuse would be that I'll get practice curing before the whole plant is ready. :blsmoke: And in addition, you'll see just how much the bud shrinks as it loses the water. If it shrinks to nothing, way too soon. If it still looks like a plump bud, you picked a good time to harvest.
