Gimpy grower

I grew an auto flower plant last spring. I harvested about an ounce off it. The plant was completely chopped and the plant had been lollipoped. At the time I had no room in the tent for another plant so left the roots and stems in the pot and set it outside. Weeks later the plant started putting on flowers. Thought it was interesting so after a few weeks decided to pop it in a grow tent. I didn’t expect much but to my surprise after 10 weeks or so it has sticky buds that smell pretty skunk. I think the plant was a strawberry cheesecake auto but the label faded on the pot. How did this happen?
