Is this a good blueprint or fail?

al b uses 2 1k W too. I orginally had it to 2k when i started this blue print but after some reading i learned about hempys and 600ws are better for them.

but im curious too, how more yield for less light
1000s are better. But feel free to make the same mistake i did lol

lumens are how we see light. 1kw will pemetrate the canopy so u will get more per plant. alb fuct is the sog expert of this site. All the info u need is in his sticky threads.

Harvest a pound every two weeks. He will answer any questioms u ask him in depth.hes a true genius

Yo so just read his thread and hes guna be gone for a bit. Hes gone to get lost for a while..
i also herd that 1000 are for blasting through thick canopys and hempys arent that thick. How much thicker could the dwc canopy be then the hempy? Al just had to go get lost :( but i can respect that i go mia too

Lumens are not how we see light. How we see light is entirely subjective: 1 lumen can easily appear as bright as 10 lumens once one's eyes have adjusted. Lumens is the [objective] measurement of how much visible spectrum electromagnetic radiation a source emits. The photosynthetic spectrum happens to fall almost entirely within the visible spectrum (with the exception being a small amount of ultraviolet and a negligible amount of infra-red). This means that lumens is a fairly accurate measurement of light-available-for-photosynthesis. Of course spectrum within the visible spectrum plays in a great deal, but 1000w and 600w bulbs have practically identical color spectrums. So 100,000 lumens put off by 600w bulbs is IDENTICAL to 100,000 lumens put off by 1000w bulbs; it will penetrate the SAME if concentrated on the same size area (something like raptor dual bulb reflectors would be good for that). The only difference is that 1000w bulbs are less efficient at producing the same quality light, concentrate heat and light less evenly, and allow less customization per wattage as far as different bulbs and spectrum go.

edit: 1000w bulbs also produce more heat per watt than 600w bulbs, due to the decreased luminous efficiency.

thats the same shit i was preaching when i went and bought my 12 600's with super spreaders .. the guy at the hydro store even suggested we go with 1000's?I should have listened. all the information points to using 600's but at the end of the day the 1000 just grow a hardier more solid single cola plant.. time and time again. ill stop spreading my bad info. lol peace

I have 3 lights; 1, 1000w hps and 2, 600w mh one mh is in the blue spectrum and one in the red. the neat thing about my lights is that i am using 2 1000w magnetic ballasts to power all 3 lights. the secret is a sunpulse splitter and 2 600w sunpulse bulbs. With magnum xxxl hoods. the one 1000w is run on the same brand and model as the 2 600s but is in the new raptor 6" hood. I run these three lights in my flower room over a 6x14 scrog with 9 plants. I have had 12 harvests under this light setup. That being said, I have noticed no difference between the buds under the 600 vs the buds under the 1000. however there is a visible difference in the intencity between them; therefore you MUST keep the 600s closer to the canopy. this is ok because they generate less heat. this is a common mistake with 600 watt lamps. Keeping the 600s closer also reduces the light footprint per bulb. 1, 1000w will light a 5x7 grow space while a 600 will only do a 4x6. use the splitter and you get 2 600s for the same electric bill as one 1000. plus get a 4x12 grow space compared to a 5x7. thats a lot more bang for your buck
