they look a little overwatered and slightly deficient. i say that because i can see the tips of the leaves have turned hard- thats deficient not burn.

yes they still need nutes, they will always need nutes unless you have really awesome soil. just keep feeding and watering them and watch them grow and quit worrying so much.

If you think something is munching on them, I read you can just give them a light wash with some warm water and soap suds and then a wash with clean purified water to get the soap off, every day man. You could spray pesticide...but you know a lot of those things that are poisonous to bugs/spider mites are poisonous to us too. It takes like 2 weeks for the plant to get it out of it's system and it's safe to smoke after that...but eh I always figured it must affect the smoke somehow if you're adding artifical chemicals

btw I am a n00b to this as well - what is a nute?

nvm, fertilizer

I've used the azomax as he mentioned, it works really good. your way does too, but when it comes to bugs i don't like to take any chances.

Well I've got the notes here - You can identify spider mites, which are the nasty little buggers that suck out enzymes, by using a magnifying glass to look for fungus, or black dots, which are eggs.

And then the chemicals you want to effectively kill these, are Kelthane and Malatheon. They're the things you wanna be looking for in the ingredients on your pesticide.

As I said, these are both lethal to Humans. Give 10 days (at least) for these chemicals to evaporate.

You're right that that is probably gonna be the most effective way...but eh I get paranoid about chemicals man, I would rather try less noxious ways first. But I have heard that these spider mites are particularly nasty fuckers.

What stage of growth are you in? unless you are trying to go completely organic or natural, and you are in veg, have no worries man. there is no need to be paranoid because there is no chance that shit is still gonna be in the plant by the time you harvest it.

I have never even grown anything yet man, I'm germinating seeds starting from today. I made sure to do some homework before I got started :blsmoke:

Well probably not au natural but as natural as possible. I have picked up some times, and the weed had a funky taste to it, like someone ate some barbecue beef crisps and rubbed their hands all in it...I am trying to avoid stuff like that

Do not use chemicals to kill spider mites are you serious. Earth jucie or the company that makes Earth juice has this stuff called Gonats that can be added to reservoir and use as a soil feed that is 100 percent organic that if have not tryed yet but heard nothing but god things about it. my self I use 1.5 teaspoons of neem oil mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of dish soap mixed with a quart of tap water that I spary on the tops and bottoms of the leaves during ligths off every six days and kills everthing and is organic. Try not to use chemiicals trust me on this it taste nasty even if you fluxh for a long time.

Kudos to you for doing your homework BEFORE starting a grow. i read two books before i popped a seed and my buddies that have grown for years wonder why i grow so much more and better shit than they do.

Solorphlare, you are not gonna taste that shit if you use it during veg.

you really know when buds got some fertilizers in it is when it crackles.
