Is this light a good deal?

and hps are not measured in lumens much any more . its all about the spectrum and par out put the plant sees . so if this led company is talking about lumens they are about 6 years behind the times .

this light is hype . anybody know of a light that will finish a week sooner in flower ? i dont . only way to do this is to shorten the light period and crank the co2 .

Lmao ok opinions are like ass holes everyone has one and I spent 200$ on my 600w HPS set up i only grow 10 plants at a time in a sea of green so I think I'd stay with HID lights opposed to LED lights that range from 600-1800$ for 400w-1200w I'm ok lol and if 20$ extra on the light bill a month is to much oh well lol
See here's the deal when I built my house a few years ago I had geothermal and solar installed to run my house and my grow room running 6000+ watts of hid lights. forward to now I run LEDs and cob LEDs DUE to the fact they they can and do crush that old hid technology. Some ppl say led growers are so supportive because they're so invested however I dropped way money with the plans of running hid lights that the cost of LEDs are a drop in the bucket. If you think how much time you get from any led fixture and add up the price of bulbs you would spend on those hps lights you would have already bought several cobs you could have built or bought. I'm currently repurposing my old hoods to become cob fixtures.
@bryan oconner i have two of kinds xl 1000's cob lights will crush those too. I do run them from time to time like now it works very well don't get me wrong I get nice tight dense buds. Thanks to the fact my room never gets over 75 degrees.

only thing holding me back on the kind is the price . so forced to be old school . starting to get caught up with the times .

that is a hell of a lot of cash. 1 light that WILL beat a hps hortilux is made by (kind ) led . there par out put was more then a hps . check them you tube . tested on monstergardens i would never spend that much cash on a light .

for the price you could own 7 hps lights . or 4 really good hps lights with raptor hoods . no led will beat those .my opinion . so its a toss up 4 very good hps lights you could grow the hell out of many plants a huge stupid garden or 1 led and have about the same as hps .
Bro this argument is so old and tired. Hps bulb need to be replaced. They need reflectors, reflectors need to be replaced. Hps generates more heat than light. If you don't need heat you gotta pay to get rid of it. There are many factors to weigh.

You have no clue. Go through the LED section. Every experienced DIY grower easily exceeds 1g/w. I know Luddites swear by HID and they work great it's true. In certain scenarios they may still be the best option. But they are not as powerful, efficient or as spectrum focused as led. Their time is passing. Their tech has been at it's climax for years. Watt for watt an led lamp will crush ANY HID handily. A state of the art led rig, watt per watt can produce close to double the amount of photons. Plants grow on photons not tired out beliefs
true, PAR is crucial. I like induction. 95% PAR, led incorporated reds simulate dusk/dawn and the lights have a 10 year warranty. They run really cool as well, no fans and the ballast is made into the hood. They work on a tesla coil design.

You're only weighing the cost of the light. There is more to consider such as power usage, replacement bulbs, heat signature from infra red detection ZOMG, heat from bulb and ballasts ect....

i did some quick math on one of those kind 1000 . power savings is 350 watts . and its .16 per kilo watt here. light is on 12 hours a day for most and the led compares to a hps 1000 watt . so the electrical savings is . 28 a month per light and a year its 336 so it will take 5 years . and the light will pay for it self in the electric savings over hps . 5 years is a long time . i dont know if i will still be around that long lol with my health .

That's not too bad. Cali is paying over .40/Kwh so lots of those guys see savings the first year, realistically running more than 12 hours a day most of the time.
