Is this meter crap?

I bought this meter but don't know how reliable it is or how accurate it is, does anyone out there know anything about, or use this same meter? Can it really detect the nute level of soil? Feed back is needed, thanks....

i never had that one, but the first ph meter i had was one like that, with a single probe though. i hated it, the pointer would go all over the place for no apparent reason. it would say 8 then 6 and it was all over the place, just really disappointing. some times you need to spend the extra money on quality equipment, sad but true. good luck with your meter bro.

I wanted to check the ph of the soil and this one doesn't bounce on me. I checked it against a 4.01 solution and it found it. I was just wondering because I don't have a meter for soil at any of the places around me. Not even the indoor shop that I got my set up from. That's where I got this one... I don't have a prob checking the water I use drops for that. I just wonder if I should be leary of it in a month or so....

those types of meters are crap they are very inaccurate for ph, i have found them to be useful for moisture but nothing more. I had one for about 2 days before i decide to buy an expensive meter.

does it say how your should store it? i would read the directions if i were you. if you have spare money and a plastic card of some sort, you can purchase anything online, and they will ship it to your door. good luck. peace brother

That meter is pure crap,take a reading of your soil with it & write down the reading,then take a handfull of the soil from the same planter you took the reading from,take a cup of water & add 30 or so drops of ph down to the water & mix it with the cup of water,the water should read like battery acid,now water the soil & test it,you'll see why your meter is junk.

Your better off measuring the ph from the run off of the soil when you water with no nutes then relying on that thingamabobdohicky.

thats what i felt like telling him "the meter is pure crap" but i could only go from my personal experiences. good job pan, always on point and blunt.
