I went to check on my plants and noticed this green stuff in one of the pots. It's only in one pot - is this mold? you can see it pretty clearly in the lower half of the pic, around the edge of the pot.

If it is, what can I do about it?

thanks

Looks like algae growing on top of your soil. Might be from overwatering. Let it dry out a bit more before watering again if its moist.

Also, that purpled up stem on your plant indicates it might need some food.

nope, thats not mold, thats moss or algae. it grows on moist soil when enough light gets to it. if you put a layer of perlite on top of your soil it will stop it from growing.

cool - so it's not something that's going to kill my plant?

That's MG starter soil - I planted those guys in there about a week ago - you think I should be adding nutes this early?

nah, that wont kill your plant...the MG soil is more likely to kill it than that moss lol.

NO, do not add nutes that early in MG soil, you will run into problems. i grow in MG and you have to wait til they get bigger before you can nute them.

ive found that in MG soil, the sooner you transplant them into a bigger pot the better.

hey thanks man - this is my first grow, so I'm still learning a lot. any tips on how to tell when to start with nutes? also, I planted the seeds in peat pots - I should be able to just stick the whole thing in a larger pot, right?

if they look fairly healthy, i give them a shot of nutes about a week before i put them into flower, then again at least once during flowering. otherwise, i just feed them nutes when they start to turn yellow, or show any other deficiencies. i never feed nutes before the plant has 5 nodes.

ive never used peat pots but, yeah im pretty sure you just plant the whole peat pot in the larger pot.

These are Root Riots, 7 days in. The white stuff showed on one yesterday, and then another today! What is it?

Relative Humidity is from 25% to 35%

Thanks

lol yes I made sure to wash my balls really good, rinsed em twice! And no I haven't used any nutes, although the Root Riots come with micronutes in them.

Ventilation is good...it's hooked up to my cold air intake for my house thru 4" ducting. With hand in front of ducting I can feel decent flow I think for the size of my propagator tent (24"x24"x36").

I've tried to keep the plugs moist and not dry out, although a few have...at least the top half. But would mold or mildew form in 30% relative humidity?
