Hey growers check out how fat my stalk is! Most of the plant is looking gorgeous except for a light burn recently and a nute burn in early veg. But all new growth is lookin fabulous! But I had a question on if this is ok.. not sure how well you can see it in the picture but ill explain. Right next to the stalk there is a little bit of root sticking out of the soil.. this always happens when I water in the middle of the pot but I cover it with dry soil and then it just happens again so should I even worry about it? Thanks RIU!
Oh yeah and check the deformation out coming out of the stalk. There is another one on the other side that's way bigger

the small above ground root could be a sign of being "root bound". otherwise the plant looks great - good luck

Shes in a 5 gallon pot though.. someone told me its pretty much impossible for a plant that size to get rootbound in a 5 gallon pot. I made a thread on that before and that's what they said.. but I have no idea, I actually thought it was getting rootbound because I wasn't really noticing new growth, but I just put her in flower and the past week she really shot up so i really have no clue.. but thanks for your help!

ya that happens when you water and even worse if you don't pack the soil down some. throw more dirt on it or just deal with it, the root is probably super fat and healthy it just happens when it gets old enough.

glad to hear this post helped me too as my little one foot tall plants are doing the same thing . except they are in 25 gal totes . rootbound is not possible . Glad to hear i just need to add a thin layer . It must be from the soil settling the first few times we watered ?

I just look at the roots that are coming out the side of my stalk and go down into the soil...not alot of em...just a few...its like a tree thats had its dirt washed away...its probably a little detrimental but im not worried *shrug*

What do you mean go down? Push the roots down a little in the soil?

Dont worry about the root its nothing, there's a 1000 more in the soil, you cant keep adding soil, when do you stop?. Stem base looks good ,starting to go woody.

By my comment I mean I watch them come out the side of the trunk and go into the soil...still growing like mad...not really that big of a deal...
