Well thats not good cause it looks as if the roots are being bound and thats bad for the health of the plant. My suggestion would be is, if the cube won't slide through the net cup then cut the bottom out so the roots can drop down and into the water cause those roots are SERIOUSLY bound. I mean look at the net cup man its bulging out 0_0

I think that's the coconut fibers that you are referring to as the cup is bulging out. It doesn't look like he has a plant in that cup yet.

yes you are correct that is the coconut fibers, so is it okay for me to plant a plant in there LOL

YouTube a guy who's channel is named hygrohydro. He has a wealth of knowledge on there. I recommend watching his dwc videos where he uses a mix of perlite and coconut fibers for his clones then transplants them straight into his hydroponic for his dwc setup. Yes it should be fine.
