Is this Over Watering? Please see Pics. many thanks!

I'm using a Hydro system: Waterfarm buckets with 24/7 continuous drip. This is my 3rd grow with this system and I have never noticed these symptoms before. Leaves are "droopy", curling down. Plants have been in vegetative growth for over a month, and yet plants are small. Stunted growth?

See Pics below: first 3 pics are how my plants look now - which I believe are suffering from Over Watering. The plants are temporarily under CFL lights... The back story on this is listed below. The following pictures were how my plants looked before my HPS ballast died.

The leaves on the bottom of the plants are brownish in color because of nute burn I had earlier in the grow due to splash up from my the drip rings onto the plants leaves. You'll notice I used Mylar to cover the drip rings to prevent further splash up.

However, this week my ballast died for my 400 watt HPS lighting system
:-( I RMA'd it back to HTG Supply (who were very helpful, thank you!)

It could take a week before I receive my replacement ballast, and I did not want my plants to be without light so I bought a CFL system as a temporary measure. Each lamp reflector has 2 - 100 watt CFL bulbs ( 6500k ) for a total of 200 watts over each plant.

Since using the new lighting system, my plants leaves have been getting "droopy." Is it possible that the CFLs are not "hot" enough to evaporate the water from the continuous drip system? As stated earlier, I have never noticed these symptoms when they were under my HPS lights. You can see the before and after pictures of my plants in the 2 different lighting systems.

As a temporary measure: I currently have the drip rings disconnected from my air pumps as the plugs are very moist to the touch.

As always, I appreciate the very helpful RollitUp community in taking a look at my problem. Thank you! :bigjoint:

looks like a number of things could be wrong, over nuting, ph fluctuation etc.
the nute solution i'm using now is diluted. Sensi Grow A/B. I havn't checked the PH recently, will do that later. Just wanted to point out that the plants looked healthier under the HPS. The droopy, downward curling of leaves started when I switched to CFL's. I should be receiving my replacment ballast this week

It is most likely both as that much wilting would usually be a watering problem. The browning might be overfertilizing...however it might also be overwatering aswell as the oxygen starved water suffocated roots cannot support the plant and so the leaves begin to die back. If it was overfertilization I'd expect to see burn more evenly distributed throughout the plant and a bit more curling.

Cut the water a bit man and of course this early in the game you should be giving no nutes if using tap (let sit for 3 days to remove chlorine) and a few drops of a 3-1-2 if using RO water since ppm will be under 50~

Good Luck man.

thank you all for the good advice! :)

I will put it into practice. I have disconnected the drip ring and letting the plants dry out a little. will continue to check plugs for moisture level. Will flush the systems with PH water and stay off the nutes for awhile.
