Is this seedling a lost cause? Weird leaves! (Photo)

Not sure whats happening to this one, is it a lost cause? The main leaves are bending in a weird way going in the same direction instead of one going left and other going right, like a normal plant. What to do?

Do you have it in a window? If so, looks like it's bending toward the light (photosensitivity). Turn it around a couple of times a day.

Yes it's on a windowsill with some other plants but the other plants look fine, it's only this one behaving strangely. I tried twisting it earlier and now the leaves have drooped but still going in the same direction.

It is bending towards the window, turn it by 180° every second day. Also,

Looks like it's growing two colas from seed? Maybe not a lost cause, but a plant that saves you topping?

tis, the prophecy: two leaf has come, his reign of dankness will be true!!!!

j/k just let it grow out of it.
Lol.. It did cross my mind for a sec that I'd stumbled upon some strange X-man mutant plant with unheard of superpowers!

Ok, I'll let the thing grow and hope for the best.. it's just that it's so different from the other two plants that I had to ask

needs more light it is stretching trying to get closer to the light source. A cfl would work better than a window sill snag a 6400 cfl and put it like 6 inches above your plant it will start to grow horizontal instead of laterally

Is there any other household light I could use? Because I plan to put them outdoors as soon as the weather gets better. I had them outside for a couple of days last week when it was sunny and warm but since then the weather took a turn for the worse and it got cold and rainy. Hopefully it'll warm up again soon.

hes referring to spectrum 6400k for veg which are the natural light spiral bulbs from the store. I would recommend doing some research and reading lots of threads in the newbies section

I had one similar to that and as mentioned, it basically topped itself (doubled the top buds or "colas"). I got rid of it only because I was in the middle of a pheno hunt and didnt have time/room for experiments.

Good to know I'm not the only one it happened to, I was wondering if I'd done something wrong to that plant. I guess I could just let it grow out and see what happens because I plan to put them all outdoors when the weather gets better and at the moment I only have 3 seedlings so if I got rid that's a third of my potential harvest wiped out.

Yes, I checked on Amazon when I read the post but that's a specialist bulb and I'd need to buy the bulb and holder, plus wait for the delivery. That's why I was asking if I could for the next week or so use a household bulb of some sort because I plan to put them outside as soon as the sun comes back which should hopefully be next week.

Cannabis plants are by far not as fragile as growers claim them to be, but I understand that considering one spent a lot of money, time, sweat and tears on a plant he/she all too often becomes over protective. I often imagine cannabis growers as people that make their kids wear a helmet when going to the playground ^^.

I am in amidst my first grow right now and boy let me tell you! I did some barely comprehensable shit to my plants and they're still alive and p healthy imo.

For the first few weeks of veg I used a single 11W warm-white CFL just to keep the plant under 18h of light, this wacky shit caused my plant to stretch a lot, when I repotted my plant and moved it in my tent I "accidentylly" mixed the soil with grass which brought along fungus gnats, mites, and other unwanted guests. I accidentally overdosed some solution containing fast reproducing microorganisms, made my tent smell like a brewery for a fortnight, I fixed this by watering with pool water that contains alot of chloride. Because this didnt get rid of the fungus gnats I tried some insecticides like: Stinging nettle "tea" that should've worked as a repellent, tobacco "tea", black tea, chili sauce/tea, coffee and all listed things mixed together!. Hell at one point I even put a nicotine patch on the stem of my plant to get rid of mites! (which worked!???)

Anyhow! The Plant survived all that crazy stuff and is still looking p healthy to me!
pix related,

This is my first grow and I am not planning on doing any of the things listed above EVER again, I just hope I can harvest soon and do better on my second attempt, my whole setup only cost me about 130$ tho

To answer your question, If you got a spiral bulb, use it for now until you get something decent.

plants bending towards light is called phototropism.

the result is the same...either turn it or get more light to even out the exposure.

Woah amazing info, very useful to know and it does put things in to perspective. Sounds like you gave those plants a hell of a rollercoaster ride and they still pulled through lol.. Thanks for story, that was great to read.. I put mine out for the day today, it was warmer and less windy but still overcast and dull with no direct sunlight breaking through the clouds. That weird plant didn't budge a bit, it's still stuck with two opposite leaves pointing in the same direction, and I thought that maybe 10 hours of daylight outside would have started moving them back to a proper formation but could be it needs more time because it didn't move one bit.

As far as lights I'm planning on an outdoor grow with 3 plants so I rather not buy lights if I can avoid it because they'll only be used temporary, although I guess it'll be a good investment for the future either way.
