Is THIS the best argument against letting LCBO sell pot?

In the months ahead, the powers-that-be have to figure out how to facilitate the sale of legalized marijuana in Canada. But don’t worry. It looks like the marijuana retailing debate has been settled – at least when it comes to Ontario.
A new survey shows that a sizeable chunk of Ontarians rank the Liquor Control Board of Ontario as their top choice for where it should be sold.
The results come from a Nanos poll that was conducted for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, which, coincidentally, represents LCBO workers.
Is anyone surprised that a study sponsored by the LCBO union has a favourable outcome for the LCBO and an unfavourable outcome for the private sector?
Even then, the results were hardly a home run for OPSEU but they’re championing this poll on the rationale that the LCBO system is best when it comes to so-called “social responsibility”.
Except, this is false.
Watch as I explain all the reasons why we should view this seemingly inevitable decision with concern.
And if all this doesn’t convince you that having the LCBO sell pot is a bad idea, maybe this will:
Premier Kathleen Wynne has long supported the idea of selling marijuana at LCBO stores.
