Just as long as your not adding water when the soil is still damp you should be fine. I have to water everday

watering every few days is good. when the soil dies it the roots go looking for more water, so you kinda want to not water untill it almst starts getting droopy.

You shouldn't ever have to water everyday in soil. I water every 4 or so days. The soil needs to completely dry in between waterings.

Yes, watering every day is too much. The leaves will tell you when they are out of water. Just watch them, and don't misinterpret your recent over-watering's possible "drooping" from being saturated with the "slightest wilting" of the thirsty plant.
Pre-digging your planting hole and ensuring a good drainage bottom, like a bunch of rock, goes a long way in reducing weather related over watering issues when growing outdoors. I'd probably add some mulch, etc. to this original soil in the new hole.

how big are the plants and the pot their in and how much water do you give them it is important to wet all of the soil and let it dry out i see where a lot of ppl just water right around the plant wich is not good you want the entire soil surface wet all the wat through the pot and let it dry to about 2 inches down into the pot poke your finger in to the second knuckle feel wet soil not time to water if it is a seedling it is possible that the sun is too strong and hot and may need to be put in the shade til it grows up a lil more. oh yea are they in pots or the ground

this is what should fix the problem.. try buying "distilled water" at the store and use1/4 of the jug every other day to water it (Assuming its flowering 2-3ft plant).. try buying some plant food with some of these..

there is no set amount to water, water until you have some runoff.

is your pot too small for the plant the soil does get a crust on tup that looks dry but just below its still wet tell about your plant age size pot size

my pots aren't huge to be honest, don't know the exact capacity.
it gets dry on top so i put it down to my bulb (600W HPS) but it could be don to something else.
mainly happens to my larger plant which is a smaller pot so you could be right about he pot size.

well that could be it ive grown in small pots before and yea when a plant is a lil root bound you gotta water it more but i finished rootbound plants befor with no problem the light may dry out the top a lil too but is it still wet, poke your finger in a little see if you feel wetness or if you cant poke it cause roots are thick but yea that would be my guess without being their to see it
