Ive been reading a lot of posts about Christianity and I for one would not want to be associated with you if you are one of those retards who holds true to beliefs you cant even back up. I am personally very comfortable with God and happy with life, so I know whats going on with reality, cant say the same about others. Some people could really hold off on their christian opinions, nobody cares... seriously... and to all those atheists out there, I dont have a problem with you. If I could smoke with you, I probably would :leaf:

Weak minds need something to cling to. They cling to religion, I get it.. The problem starts when your spiritual belief is forced upon me. That just aint gonna happen.

Keep your beliefs out of my Government, out of my schools, and out of my way

If you choose to follow something blindly in the hopes you will have a great after life, that is your right as a human being.

When that ridiculous blind faith starts to interfere with how government operates, someone must pay.

I quess we should just listen to your opinion. Nobody esle should have an opinion. Everybody should be able to talk about what they want, and calling people retards, in my opinion says alot about yourself. As for nobody care, I quess I would care, unless I am antimatter, I am somebody, correct. Peace to you and may you find peace and release your anger.

Sometimes it is striking when you stop to think that most of the people around you believe in something so absurd as god. Some of the ways they defend those beliefs and the lack of even the slightest critical thought does sometimes lead one to believe they are retarded. In the marketplace of ideas, especially stoned ones, we are bound to hit upon offensive concepts from time to time.

Further observation reveals that people become superstitious when they feel powerless. The less control a person has over a situation, the more superstitious they tend to be. Athletes whos sport depends on skill have far less superstitious habits than those who depend more on luck. The thing any of us has the least control over is our death, so it makes sense that we would tend to be stubbornly superstitious about it.

My mother would tell you that skeptics can be just as annoying and, in her opinion, pointless. She is just as tired of hearing about critical thinking as I am about religious dogma. So I think the overall lesson should be tolerance. But goddamn, it's hard to tolerate ignorance.

I can certainly agree that ignorance is difficult to tolerate, but the implication that all spiritual and religious people are ignorant is not an example of tolerance, and it certainly speaks of a position of inexperience and ignorance in and of itself.

Religion promotes ignorance. Indeed it turns to ignorance anytime it hits a logical wall. When we don't have answers, when we don't understand why god does something, we are told to have faith and our place is not to understand the mind of god. In other words, ignore the questions and be satisfied anyway.

I don't see how my opinion that religion relies on ignorance qualifies as intolerance. Just as your opinion that I am inexperienced and ignorant does not mean you don't tolerate me. I support people's right to believe and express themselves as they wish, even if I see their views as asinine, isn't that the very spirit of tolerance?

Heisenberg, I have read many of your posts. You strike me as a very intelligent person.
Your posts are always quite eloquently written, be it though our beliefs are quite different.

Tolerance is the answer, the same way I have tolerance to what I percieve as your "ignorance". Respectfully stated.

Myself I have quite a bit of schooling and graduated at the top of my class, so I do not count myself as ignorant.
Now I am a Christian.
It took me many of years to reach this state though. Vast amounts of research.
I finally came to the conclusion that it takes more faith not to believe than to believe.

Please read, and maybe you already have, "A Case For Christ".

Oh and yes by the way I also believe in Evolution.

Thank you for your time.

h

Weak minds.. laugh

I'm born again hard myself & I'd love to have your opinion on my "weak" mind.

Why is it that when someone prescribes to a belief in a higher power (for me that's Jesus, God, Holy Spirit etc) it means that in your opinion they are have a weak mind? I just don't understand why?

When the Buddhist monks protested the Vietnam war in the 60;s & 70;s by lighting themselves on fire in public. Weak minded??
The Christians who died in the colosseum before they would reject their beliefs in Christ. Weak minded?
The crazy arab bastards who flew in to the WTC. Weak minded?

Are you crazy? They are some of the firmest minded people I have ever heard of. I may disagree with them & their beliefs but they are FAR from Weak Minded. You can say that you don't understand HOW they could believe in what they believe. Hell, you can say they were weak in spirit so they have put their beliefs into a higher power to help get them through the day. BUt they are FAR from weak minded.

Fuck........

Last week my wife was sitting outside with the kids and here comes the bible thumpers. She said no thanks before he started talking. That would mean go AWAY right. He says, "No no, I'm inviting you to a memorial service." She says, "Oh I'm sorry. Who died." He says, "It's a memorial service for Jesus."

Fuckin Jehovah Witnesses.
