Many years, I don't know how many years, but I smoke some stuff that is a decade old and quite nice.

Actually keeping it in the freezer will stop the break down of the THC.
Once you press the hash and get the oils going they form a seal around the hash, that does protect it but this does degrade too. Keeping it in the freezer slows this down a lot.
Will that 10yr old hash be as strong as if it spent its life in a freezer, no a chance.
There are a lot of scientific studies out there that will go over the decay n break down .
