Its all about worms

I'm liking this idea of worms in the pots. I'm sure that they'd be a benefit at any stage, but will I get a noticeable improvement adding them at the end of the veg cycle? I could put some corn meal around the top and add some more soil.
Would 25 or 30 worms be enough for a 5 gal pot? They will either create or revive the little micro beasties in the soil, right?

I like the worm idea, but wouldn't they crawl out when you water the plant really well?

Like when it rains hard you see the worms crawling around on the surface, presumably they can't breath or something. :?

if you do use worms in your pot you should maybe think about feeding them to keep em in their like fall leaves crumbled up on top like a mulch. they may come to the serface when you water but i dnt thing they would leave and dont use chemicals or you may just end up with a bunch of dead worms in your soil

yea they will crawl to the surface but i havent heard of them leaving the pot. also you do have to be careful what chemicals you put in there. i know invertibrates are very intolerable to copper, but other than that im not sure what other chemicals they react to. i would just go with organic fertilizers.
