2-3 inches of either plain old playground sand or gnat nix on top of your soil. Spray the tent with spinosad (or fog the room). Spinosad is safe to use even in flower. It's a bacteria that is completely safe to people, pets, and plants. Once the bacteria are dead, there is no trace they were ever there.

That will get them.

How do you check if your soil isn't dry if it's covered with 2 inches of sand? Or is this suppose to be a temporary thing?

Can you lift the pot? You can also still stick your finger through the sand and into the soil, or move some sand, check, then recover.

Yes, it should be there for the full grow cycle.

I imagine it stays the whole life cycle to help deter away pests. I'm adding sand to my plants today hope I see a change
