All looks clean and tidy, As someone said don't listen to much advice posted on your thread. As for feeding theres a while before any of that is required.
Have fun bro!

Hey Shotrocker.

Have you started your book yet? I'm on chapter 4 on the fungi chapter right now... great book, glad I got it and can't wait to put some of the practices to use outside once all this snow is gone.

Day 24 & 25. The plants seem to be happy in their new environment, or at least alive, despite me, 2 days after transplant(?) Even though they are tiny, I guess they are at veg stage as opposed to seedlings(?) First 1/2 doses of nutes in 5 days? Turn off the heat mat? Turn lights up to 600W from 400? Adjust light height? Go 18/6 ?View attachment 1991579

It looks like they're doing OK 2 days after transplant. Even though the plants are small should I regard this as the vegging stage? 1/2 nutes (first ever) in 5 days? Lose heat mat? Go 600W from 400? move lights? 18/6? All opinions welcme. Thanks.

hey shotrockr, next grow you should startem up in the party cups, ive never really been a huge fan of transplanting,i germ in the pots theyre growing in throughout her whole cycle.400 to 600w is strictly your personnel preference.i also suggest letting your medium dry to prune your roots, than hit them with about 1/3 recommended nute dosage when they look ready(when you think they sucked all the nutrients out of your seedling start mix)18/6 is perfect into you flower. And again heat mat is your own preference.

Nice! I'm almost done. got a few chapters to go.. really helps me under stand the soil.

Check out the AACT that I started to brew in my grow journal (link below my signature) I used some of the products from the GO line, You can see how it turns out!

I checked your grow. Wow, looks like you have been doing nicely right from the start. I'll try to figure out how to subscribe. I want to learn from your nute experience.

I'm quite pleased at the progress of the ladies in the 3 days since I transplanted them into 16 oz cups. I was expecting shock for a couple of days and some maybe not making it. I think they're about ready to be watered again but when I looked at them they seemed happy, so I decided to wait until morning. Just brought the light up from 400 to 600. Tomorrow, after I insulate the floor and put the plants away from the floor. I plan on losing the heating pad. Also, after I test my timer, I think I'll go 18/6 also. Dark temp will go down to 65-66 from 78-79; this is acceptable, right? After tomorrow's watering, I'll start thinking about water pH and a bit of nutes for the next waterings. I know there's a division of opinion on this, but for my next transplant I think I'll skip the 1 gallon pots and go right for the 3 gallons. 2 more transplants after their rocky start makes me fear I'll stress them all into becoming dudes. Or hermaphrodites.

I wouldn't worry much, I think things are going well thus far.. none have died on you yet :D

As far as stress and changing their sex etc. I don't pretend to know anything about the science behind that statement, HOWEVER.

I was pretty rough on my plants when they were younger, broke stems on transplant, didn't always have them in complete darkness for the 4 hours of dark period etc etc
....and I got 4/4 females on my first go.

Your temperatures are good from what I know. Don't want to get down into the 50's ever.

(I border on that some nights as its damn cold in my 90 year old house!) but we've been keeping the temps up in the house and I took off some of my venting that was cooling my bulb and its gotten better.

You've taken good care of those girls and you're learning from your mistakes [I am too] I think you'll be happy in 3 months or so...

The biggest thing I learned, I think (and you've already got the book) is that if you're going to grow organic NOT to add any chemicals to your soil. Damaging the microherd etc.

I didn't know or understand this when I was starting out but just lucked out because the guy at my hydro shop spent 20 minutes and told me what to do, gave me the soil to use with the organics (No nutrients Sunshine mix #4)

You'll learn all about it when you read the book. What chapter on you on?

Some advice from one noob to another.

6500k 42w Cfl bulbs for seedlings. I've got one seedling under one now 3 days old that looks to be about a few days behind your 21 day old pic.(not trying to hate... I will redeem my self soon.) CFL's are easy to use and cheap. Keep them 2-4 inches away, no stretch, no problems. Also nothing but distilled or r/o water for the babies.

I recently had a grow go south on me due to soil/ph problems. You are fortunate as you are running photo period plants, mine were autos. A plant with 5 extremely stunted leaf sets started so show pistils so I scrapped it and started over. I would highly recommend a ph meter, if you don't have one. Fortunately you are running photo's so you may be able to recover if you are patient.

I got lucky with my second run. I currently have an auto and photo period seedling thriving on some Expert Gardener potting soil I found @ wally world. Bright yellow bag,3 gallons, cant miss it. The auto is 30 days old today and putting on budsites like crazy. I too have a go box. I reluctantly fed the auto 2 days ago with the 2 week veg formula on the box, cut in half , and diluted even more for the feeding. No burn yet, fingers crossed.

Good luck, and keep at it. Thumbs don't turn green over night.

True that. Happily these plants are doing better but I am eager for my second grow in order to avoid the dumb mistakes I've made with the first grow. I'm planning on germinating with T5s next time. Thanks for the advice and good luck with yours.
