I'm gonna go with Jars. Although there's a branch we cut early and hung for a week that is now in a paper bag.

I use only jars for curing, either water or air. Make sure your jars are not packed tight you need a bit of room, and get some hygrometers. 20 bucks and they will take all guess work out of it.

i hang dry, then go between paper bags and jars until its ready for curing in just the jars. then it gets stored in the same jars its curing in.

you can buy mason jars by the case.

i went to the christmas tree shop and got a bunch of the jars with the wire bale and rubber gasket for 2 bucks for small (holds over an oz.) and 3 bucks for large (holds over 2 oz.)

yeah, i save all my glass my jars, spaghetti sauce, relish, chip dip (mmm french onion mmmmm), pickles, applesauce.... whatever I got. Im not a consumer, I buy hardly anything at stores. The only way to fight the corporations is to not give them any money.

I like the idea of reusing jars. I guess it doesn't matter what kind of jar it is, as long as its air tight and your burp it accordingly.
