Javadog's Next Adventure

I am just going to restart after blasting the tent.

Happily I am down to about 20....well, not keepers, but breeds
worth giving a better look.

The Tangilope might have made the best impression, but the Stacked Kush
did too and several others were strong.

I am going to need to reduce down to about those 20 plants, in 6" pots, as my
restart stock. If I can get those clean, then Life can move on. I expect to keep
about 12 from all of these when done.

I look forward to popping some new beans. I have had to hold the interesting
crosses of Bob's for months now....actually gets under my skin.....need to get
those going! LOL

Wish ya luck JD, I have not seen any live bug action for about two weeks now, I may have gone a little heavy on the miticides & soap, foliage looks bad, new growth looking g better. I had a hard time culling my flowering plants, bout 6 weeks in, but it was the best thing to do as my veg plants had very little bug action .
I was happy with the knock down I got from the doktordoom foggers , also used azamax & conserve sc .
I also bought avid, but I'm holding g off on it for now.
Get to bean popping bro !

I have been vegging with Commercial retro fit led parking lot/street light fixtures I got new CHEAP on ebay.
They work really well
150 watt output from the Meanwell drivers (HLG-120H-24A) that are rated at 120watts.
I run them dimmed for better efficiency.
These things are BRIGHT and are not focused light, but cool to the touch.
Mine are 5500K
I have these.

I bought 3 of them

That is great news Bob, I did see the result in your thread, and
have high :0) hopes for you.

My efforts and the beaten Hot Shot Strips had some small
positive effect. No plant has been webbed/overwhelmed and
I am getting some yield to taste and sample the new breeds.

Just Hung last night...

Ho ho! What do I see there?

Mo, that sounds great bro. I love crustaceans and really most all seafood. :0)

...and Bass I was not surprised to read of a repurposed spot light. Wasn't the LEC 315
originally designed for warehouses?

I will try to share more shots....bug bites really ruin the aesthetic....I look forward to
health and cleanliness. Here's to Bob being right!

It's true all light "sources" give off heat. The efficiency of he fixture will determine how much. It's fairly simplistic. If your operating at 30% efficiency (slightly used hps bulb) u are making 30% of usable light and 70% of the energy will go to making heat. If your using a more efficient fixture you will make less heat. This is why the cobs run "cooler" and are able to still make more light. The added benefit is a much better spectrum as well.

The 315 fixtures are fairly efficient for hid and they also have much better spectrum.

At this point all light sources will make heat of some kind. The process of converting power into light naturally loses efficiency through resistance. Resistance causes the heat not the light it's self. (Except IR which does carry heat in that wavelength).

I am running under 1000ma on CXB2590 3500K cobs and thats about 200lm/w
100% efficiency would be 324 lm/w with tese cobs so I am over 60% efficiency

Recall that I am finishing out a round of plants while fighting mites
in my grow area.

I took down an interesting freebie, "OG13" from G-13 Labs.

When it has been as hammered as this baby was, "hot and hungry",
my name-sake, to boot, then I have to be impressed with its vigor:
OG13 2.JPG

It actually looks pretty much like it does online:
OG13 3.JPG

Compare that to:

I have been toking the OG18, Alient OG, and a few others. All worth trying again (dammit! ;0)

Take care all,

I saw it first when supposedly surreptitiously purchasing materials
to grow my first Cubensis Mushrooms. I really had to LOL when
saw the Vermiculite and other needed ingredients gathered together
like that.

I am toking some of BigWorm's Super Qrazy today. This is a great breed.

My first pop is a strong, super crusty, flavorful smoke. This one will
be run again. :0)

Smoking in a new glass ( cheapo) Blue Dream pulled at 6.5 weeks to save it from more mite damage.
Actually pretty good!
I am used to early pulls being a short duration high that start really strong and then drop off.
I pulled the other 2 BD and 2 Clementine a week after, and they ill get trimmed in a few days.
Really looking forward to the Clementine!!
Normally I run BD for 8.5 to 9.5 weeks, and this is a different cut so too bad a fair comparison isnt possible

I may take a Grape OG and a Boss Hogg, both new breeds from
Cali Connection, when they are at 9 weeks. The trichs will tell.

I am down to about 10 plants in the tent. The fumigation will be taking
place in around three weeks. I will not be able to give the Golden Tiger
all 11-15 weeks it wants.

I ran the same freebie from g13 labs. The OG13 looked amazing thru the grow and even after the chop, but when i started to pick and pack it was ladden with seeds. Hermied bad. Screened it for some sift and it was tasty and strong. Hope you didnt have the problem I had.

I hope so too Grundle. Thanks for taking the time. ;0)

I checked and the GT will be getting 13 weeks if I take
it on the last day, with that day being 8/19

Three weeks. I have so many plants that are already ready
to flower...a few just had to be cut down a little....the Buddha Tahoe OG
from Cali Connection is about a 3X stretcher.

Trimmed all the girls that got taken early, and finished today.

The Blue Dream and Clementine both arent sativa enough for me.
I hope the cure does something for it!!
The smell and taste are there in spades though.
I dont mind the stoney effects I get from the Clementine, but I am seeking daytime uplifting strains, and it seems no sativas I have lately are actually sativas after all.

Can anyone recommend a clear headed sativa that will make me energetic and taste/smell good?
