just 2 plants...?

What type of lights would you recommend for an indoor grow of just 2 plants? I just would like to grow for my own use...Also, I tried looking on the 101 asked questions but the link was broken so why don't you want males? I would like to eventually have 2 steady plants growing along with clones once I read some more into clones...Thank you for any advice!

cfl are good light to use during veg, then for flowering you want hps.

you dont want males because they do not produce anywhere near anything close to buds and thc produced by the female plant. the female plant grows sticky buds and the male plants produce pollen sacs. eventually this pollen is transported by wind or a bee or sumthin to a female bud. There is your reproduction and you get seeds in the bud. The idea is to grow some seeds then flower them. Once you do you will kno which is which. females have white hair and males grow tiny balls lol. as quick as you can u will take out the male plants and kill them before they produce pollen which will make you have buds with seeds in it. you dont want that

On how many lights that depends on how big you are growing your plants. how long do you plan on vegging them? people grow plants that are a foot high some grow plants 4 feet high

search "mr green" on youtube. that is a great starting point for a new grower and will probably give you a better start actually seeing it all go down rather than us telling you in words.

I know I spent hours reading, and reading, and reading (still do), and after I found that video, everything I read literally all at once started making sense to me. Had I watched the video to start, I would of been more understanding of what it was I was reading, when I was reading it.

Its a hydro grow, but it works either way.

My recommendation goes to a 150w HPS lamp. You can get one for under $100 and it will make your ladies grow denser nugs than any fluorescent lights

Cyborg, Probably about 1ft high...I'm going to by a decent sized cabinet and turn it into a nice little grow spot inside my closet...I was just going to rig some lights but I found a nice cabinet on craigslist haha so I'm going to put a van and ventilation system in it and grow inside of there...Thank you everyone for the feedback. I'll make sure I def. check out the mr green video and continue reading and asking before I start the grow...I'm going to wait another 2 weeks probably. I want to do it right haha. Thanks again!

I could probably go two feet...Have to wait until I pick up the cabinet on wednesday to get the measurements. Looks like it will do the job though. Should I be worried about height? Is it a major factor when producing buds?

yes you will need at leat 4-5 feet to grow.Plants double in size when they flower and usually after a month it is close to a foot.So you say that would grow to 3 feet tall and space for you to hang your lights over the plants.
