12/12 does not force flowering to a very young plant.

What it does is make the plant start flowering as soon as it can.

The plant will not produce much bud.

it will grow bud. You will probably have one solid bud mass and small bud sites. Just like DaveCoulier said, you will have crappy yield. Around 1 oz - 2 oz if you do it right. The yield drastically decreases as the skill level of the grower decreases. Try it out if you have a few extra beans. After that, do some low stress training and see how well you do.

Good luck.

thnkx. what do you mean by low stress training? because i have enough seeds to plant a plant every square foot of bc so i might hvae to try it out. and the chance of me getting 1 -2 oz off a single plant is low im using 2 of those 6 watt energy saving flouresent bulbs from wall mart lol. and not to insult your inteligence but the whole the less skilled grower the smaller yeild thing is a crock of bs because the first plant i ever grew ended up 6 feet tall with close to 4 pounds of wet bud on it.

When you veg till its a monster, its hard not to get a lot of bud. But I want to remind you, we are talking about a few weeks of veg from seed, then force flowering.

My first grow yielded 6g dry. Veg'ed for 16 days from seed. Forced flowering. For two weeks of flowering, I didnt feed it. I was using soil-less and I didnt know what I was doing. TOTALLY stunted growth. It was 6 inches of bud growing out of the ground.

Any dumbass can grow a 6 ft plant. Try maximizing your yield, while keeping vegetation time low with hight restrictions.

Thats where low stress training comes in. Do some research, there is A LOT on the topic on this forum. In a nutshell, its strapping your plant down so that instead of having one main cola, and popcorn all around, you are growing your popcorn buds in a way that they get a lot of light and they grow like the main cola should. Im doing this myself this grow. This way you can maximize your yield.

2000 lumens/sq. ft is pretty much minimal for the plant to grow at a good rate. An average 23w CFL bulb has about 1600 lumens. So do the math. Go out and spend the extra $10 for a pack of those.

problem being i need to stick energy saving flouresent bulbs because i live in a basement suite with a shared electric bill with the folks upstairs. last fall i started growing in my spare bedroom with olny 8 4 foot flouros on a 16/8 cycle and my power bill went up almost 150$ and i ussualy olny use that much power a month for everything else so.

Lets say it costs you about $0.05/kWh. That is realistic depending on where you live. Lets get out the calculator. 1 kW = 1000w. The "k" stands for Kilo meaning 10^3.

Lets say you are using 2x 6w "energy savers". that is 12w total power consumption. So in one hour, you will use 12wh. 18/6 cycle will use 216wh per day. This month we have 30 days. 30 days x 216 Wh per day = 6 480 Wh in that month. Lets divide that number by 1000 (because we want it in kWh, refer back to what the k stands for). We will be using 6.48 kWh per month.

Take this number and multiply it by $0.05 /kWh. You will get $0.324. That is the cost of your electrical bill for your lights. 32 cents does not equal $150 dollars.

Lets say you go out and buy a 10 pack of 23w CFLs (energy savers). Your total power consumption will be 230w. On a 18/6 cycle, thats 4,140W per day. times 30 days 124,200W per month. This is about 124.2 kWh in that month. For this many bulbs, it will cost you $6.21 a month to run them.

For two families who rent, $150 for electricity is normal. How much do you pay rent? your rent should include electricity because it wouldnt be fair for them to split the electricity bill with you. They can be using it like crazy while you are saving.
