Okay I am on day 24 flowering under about 65,550 lumens...
However a few hours a day I get direct sunlight from the windows..
I am assuming it would be better to put my plants by the window than under CFL's, for a couple hours (Is this true?)

CFL's by the way, were crap for vegging...had to veg for 8 weeks...to get a plant equivilent to 4 weeks under good light

I must admit I am not all that impressed with CFL's, but I think in the end it will turn out to be a fun little experiment, just wish there was a little more of a harvest, the plants are beautiful and bushy-green but the buds are small and fluffy...Plus they don't really look that potent, but they smell bombalicious, so Im hoping for the best!

I was thinking about that too... I would imagine it would be better, the only thing that makes me question this is that, from a window unless it's a bay window you're light is going to be coming from more or less one side. whereas in your grow room you have light all around, and in nature during the summer months the sun would ideally bathe the entire plant in light throughout the course of the day.
If you can put it outside during the light cycle and take it back in, that's also something to think about. just make sure you bring it in before it gets dark.

yeah thats mainly why I was wondering as well because I can angle my lights to get light around the whole plant, I was thinking though that if I use the window I would try to put a mirror behind the plant to try to relfect some light to the back of the plant

Oh yeah its supposed to get down to -20 degrees this weekend...Trust me I don't think I will be trying to put my plants outside...Lol
But I was also thinking that technically even though it is colder in the winter the sunlight is actually stronger because of the angle of the earth in its rotation around the sun. So this may be even better for my little laddies...

yeah sorry that was an error: what I meant to say is the sun is less direct so the plants wouldn't get as much useable light and this might affect whether it is better to have them under the sun or CFL's...Plus I wasn't sure if the window glass might block some of the useable light

Sorry I smoke to much pot sometimes....

Well it looks like I may just have to experiment, maybe this question wasn;t as simple as I thought O-well I will start trying to look for an answer somewhere else....

well, It's kind of true... because during the winter months the light from the sun penetrates our atmosphere at a different angle. I don't know if it's necessarily stronger, But you can get sunburnt pretty quick, I know that.

Hey man, I would leave my plants under the cfl, actualy I wouldnt use cfl durring flowering. I use T5s full spectrum for veg, but then go to MH for flowering. Anyhow, I think you are far better off to continue under the light you started with instead of moving plants around or switching intensity. for one you add stress to your plants, which isnt good. Second, I dont think changing your light or enviorment is a good thing.
