Just chopped

Just took a plant down and I just want to check in. I'm using a closet in my kitchen to dry, I cleaned everything out of it, swept, wiped down every wall and the floor with lysol wipes, then rinsed with damp paper towel. I put my fan and hygrometer/thermometer in there. About 1.5 Oz of buds is hanging, 68F temp, and 45% rh.

I should be well on my way to a nice 7 day dry at these conditions, agreed?

maybe even quicker. I would say about 5 days. check them and if the stem snaps, you are good to jar it.
I usually prefer to jar them before the stem is that dry. I like a crispy outside, with some moisture retained inside, to make sure they will sweat correctly inside the jars.

What I am wondering about, I assume my humidity will not stay at a perfect 45% as the buds dry out. Will a bowl of water in front of my fan be enough to combat this?

Yes i agree crispy outside is ideal. Tho, I find that even when the stem bends but does not snap that it is still too moist to jar. I end up having to dump it out a couple more times. If the stem snaps then I know it safe to jar. Never had an issue with harsh smoke. As far as the bowl of water sitting in front of the fan...I would think you would have to find a way to heat the water to release any humidity in the air.

Agreed. I don't like bendy stems either. I go for like a 50/50 ratio where the stem makes a clean break but not a dry snap.
