First off I really have to thank you all for your help. After several months of lurking I finally took the plunge. I could not have done it without all of your experience and wisdom. Granted it did take a while to sift through the disinformation that seemed to be put out on there just to discourage me, but I prevailed.
So normally I am the kind of person who would make a thread way before I even planted a seed but this time I thought I would see how it went then decide whether or not it was worth sharing. It is... I think.
My setup:
Lights-
3x 68 watt cfl
3x 23 watt cfl
Soil-
Fox farms potting mix
No perlite despite all my reading when it came time I totally spaced and just went ahead without it.
Water-
Bucket of tap water with 60gph pump making a fountain to de-gas the chlorine and assure aeration.
I have since started to use only steam distilled water as I am also now using mycos from extreme gardening.
Nutes-
Botanicare pbp Grow
Botanicare pbp Bloom
Liquid karma
VermiT (cuz I'm too lazy to brew my own)
Organic unsulphited molasses
Pretty much followed the recommended dosage for botanicare nutes and never had a problem... As far as I could tell.
Strains-
1x Afghan x Skunk#1
2x Trainwreck
All three from clone.
My grow closet is about 20"d x 30"w x 45" tall. I have one 120mm pc fan for exhaust and three passive intakes. I never got above 85f with lights on.
It's lined with panda film and fit three 1.75 gal pots nicely.
So now for the week by week.
Day one
I brought her home and posted franticly on RIU for some advice.
I topped her to slow down her growth and buy myself some time.
In the process she also got a couple roommates. 2 Train Wreck clones from the local shop.
I am just trying to get a grow under my belt and am trying to stay as small as possible for now but wanted to try LST. I am working in a very small space and with the lack of penetration from the CFLs I decided it was a good idea and I tied em down..
Worked really well with the topped plant and as for the TW, I got one the way I wanted but the other would in the end (as you'll see) totally got away from me.
First preflower on this little clone. In retrospect I should have vegged for way longer but I was a little impatient which I hear is fairly common among new growers.
I will be updating this all day. Feel free to comment, poke fun and/or give advice. If you like what you see maybe swing some rep this way.
