just started flowering, space concerns, and questions on pruning

These plants are about 2 weeks into flower on a 1000w hps on a rail. they are in a small (vertically) area and growing. there is netting in place to hopefully act as a buffer to allow for horizontal growth. should i just keep bending them under the net until a few weeks down the road. Im worried; i don't want to run out of space and burn my babies. (the one that is nicely bushy is to only one like it, the others are tied over).

Another issue is the straggly, smaller branches at the bottom are having a tough time making it up through the dense foliage. Ive never pruned so i'm not versed in the methods, if someone could throw me a tip on where to start (if i even should) and maybe a general method to know how much, etc. to take off.

Thanks

DG

...I realize this is all wrong. im just trying to make the best of it. Lesson learned.

howdy,

Nice op. In regards to the undergrowth, the whole idea with the SCROG you're doing is to grow an exceptionally larger canopy, so you really should not expect much bud from those lower branches, cut 'em for clones. You've got them in 5gal and they've got plenty of room for root growth, so that's good. It can take twice as long to veg them for your set up.

But looking at these photos, you should've been training them long ago. You may want to pull down the grid this time and just finish them off. If I were doing it like that, I would've put the grid haflway lower than you have it now. I think you'll have a nice harvest as is.

yes, i realize this now. i did the noob move and started w/o really knowing too much; I had the idea that these were goin to be mothers but the grow took a diferent turn and i ended up taking these into flower (which im realizing may have not been that great of an idea).
I put the grid up to try to contain them a bit, not really planned. i let them get way too tall, but they are in 12/12, have been for 2 weeks. They were a little over 2 months old from seed when i switched over to 12/12, i couldn't let them go any longer.

Your saying i should drop the grid now (or take it out, they will still stretch a bit, im sure)? I am keeping them under and handing them alot, which i dont like. Do I get rid of some of the under growth or just let it go and correct the next time around? How do i select which ones to cut? Dont want to take flowering clones (or is that normal, i guess i could throw them in the woods somewhere, lol).

If you're saying i should take down the grid, there's no way.
