Hey folks, I just transplanted my plant into a 1 gallon container from a smaller container and when I did i tore some roots. When will i know if the plant is going to be ok? The plant is growing wonderfully otherwise before i transplanted. Thank you.

It'll just stunt the plant. You wont notice it growing much if any for a week or so depending on how much of the root ball you ripped. I was transplanting 1 of my 6 from a 1 gal container to a 4 gal container and ripped the root ball in half. That plant took less than a week to recover and start growing, but I had put some willow water on it to help the roots recover and regrow.

how bad was this tearing of the roots? it doesnt sound like a big deal but depending on the severity it could stun them for a bit till the root system can catch back up to where it was at size wise as your plants canopy and root system are pretty closely related, your plant cant grow any more than the root system can support so first it may have to catch back up.

you should be fine ... shouldnt even stunt unless you did a good bit of damage ... I have literally just yanked em outa of the dirt and thrown em aside - to have my son pick em up , pot em after being outa dirt for 2 hours and they grew for him . They can be more vigorous than we give em credit for sometimes .....

Should be fine. But in the future, if you are scared to hurt your plant by transplanting. Plant in a big enough pot where you don't need to transplant.

Just think of it as a topping for your roots, probably every root you ripped will split into 2 roots once it recovers.
