kansas anti-gay segregation bill..

new bill likely to be passed by the house is going to allow anti gay actions to fall under the guise of religious freedom... weren't we just talking about this with the cake shop in oregon?? crazy ...
anyhoos, according to the new bill, gays may not be allowed access to hospitals, cops may not have to serve and protect gays, as well as being turned down by public businesses..
the bill is originally written for gay couples, but of course the loose language of the bill means that it could also be applied to single gay men and women, so long as the person working / waiting, serving and protecting them, feels that being gay is against their religious beliefs..

personally, i can't even believe a bill like this would stand a chance of passing, but from what i've read, said it should fly right through.. :(

lol, i'm talking to my gay friend, and that's exactly what she just said to me. still, this is crazy, kansas or alabama, or any where, this is the 21st century, no?
20 years behind the curve. For sure. I'm a little butt hurt (pun intended) about this, man. I love that we've been making a shit load of progress on the front, but, when I think about how fucked things were just 5 years ago, I'm not surprised that we still have a superlong way to go to educate the idiots. Fucking shame.

Not much of a college town. Lived there for 4 months on a construction crew. Lived next to a bar that had no bathrooms. The guys would piss on the bar side of our house and the girls would piss on the other side. Wish we had cell phone cameras back then. It was funny as shit seeing droves of drunk chicks taking a piss and getting surprised when we popped out looking at them from the second floor window

Bar was called bullwinkles

While it is stupid to not serve a person based on their sexual orientation. The idea that a private business owner must associate with somebody he or she doesn't want to is disturbing.

If a person truly owns something like real estate property they would determine the rules. If others determine the rules for them, the ownership has been changed.

No, I am not anti-gay. I am pro freedom of association, which means all people should be able to associate with others and be left alone as long as the owner of the place where they are associating permits it. Allowing a single entity such as government to determine who can or cannot associate is giving a bunch of dickwads the power to determine what people will do. Freedom of association should only require that ALL parties involved and only those parties, are cool with it.

When people use force to make persons associate with others they prefer not to, there is a problem. Individuals should be left alone to associate with those that wish to associate with them. After all it was the chameleon government that used to have laws against gays associating with other gays or blacks and whites intermarrying. Don't look for solutions from the same people that brought the problem....

So you saying the same thing Ron Paul did. It's ok to tell someone not to wash or drop off clothes in my place of business due to the color of skin or their sexual preference? WTF.

it's OK, the racists seem to have come out to play today, and rob roy is no exception. he thinks blacks demand "special rights" and calls the president a mulatto all the time.
