Keep roots alive? +rep for solid responses.

Its looking like at least one of my plants is going to be male. With its roots so tangled up with a females I was wondering if cutting off pretty much everything except the fan leaves will cut allow me to keep the roots alive and not worry about them pollinating my females.

If not, any tips for untangling the roots?

dont do that alright here is the deal man the roots have nothing to do with pollination of plants so just cut the plant off at the very base of the soil and trash it next time dont let the roots get togther i dont know if you are growing hydro or soil but unless you know what the sex of the plant you are dealing with keep em togther males die females you keep unless you are trying to breed

sorry jus saw the aero gro part once you cut the plant in haly in a couple of days the roots will be dead or on your next change of water you shuld be able to get them out
