I have some maui waui seeds germinating, and I'm going to have them vegging in my window with some CFLs. I don't want to let them get too tall before I move them into my closet where I will be flowering them under a 250w HPS. The tallest they can get is 3 maybe 4 feet before I'd worry about them being too close to the light.
I'll top them for sure, but I don't know how well I could do much training. Scrog is out of the question since I'll be moving them and changing pots, not to mention I'm growing from seeds and will have some males. LST is a little more doable, but would still be a bitch when I change pots. Also I don't know how well LST can work while they're vegging in the sunlight.
What do you recommend for keeping a Sativa shorter when moving it between grow areas?
