Keeping plants short?

I'm building a half closet grow room (still want to be able to store my clothes), but I only have

30" In Height
24" Deep
38" Wide

to work with.

Has anyone got any successful method for keeping the plants a manageable size with a respectable yield?

Also, I would like to know the shortest possible grow time.

Go down to your local hydroponics store and ask for some vertical growth inhibitor. I've used roughly the same setup for my first grow and this sure did the trick. If you want to reduce flower time as much as possible grow either lowryder plants (germ to harvest in 8 to 9 weeks) or Top44 (44 days flowering).

Do they also have this vertical growth inhibitor for soil application. i dont grow hydro but could it have the same use on soil.

u can top it. or lst it and keep tying down the buds...

I use topping, pinching, and FIM'ing and I've had great success. I keep my plants at about 18 inches and that seems to be perfect for me. It gives me solid bud growth all through the plant as the lights (400W and 600W HPS) can easily penetrate that far.

Kludge: i planned on doing a perpetual sog. I have a little height problem, would pinching work for a sog type grow.

I'm no expert so I can only speak to the few grows with bag seeds but it's been totally consistent in all those so I do have a bit of confidence in the method.

But long story short, in my limited experience, yes. You'll also want to do some pruning too of course.

12/12 from seed so it starts flowering as soon as it pops up.

You could also limit the size of the pot that it's in, this will stunt it's growth slightly so if you did this in conjunction with LST or SCROG you'd get a decent sized plant for your area.

A great help! I had no idea you could go 12/12 straight from seed Will definitely be trying that one!

Excellent point. I found 3 gallon pots to be the biggest I want to use for a 400W just doing my normal grow. With a SoG and a 400W I think I would try going with sixteen 1.5 gallon square pots. Basically whatever fits into your area.

You mean these? (click for link)

1 - topping
2 - cloneing off the tops to keep it short (if you want to have an area for a mom or so)
3 - if you have moms you could do SOG

Yes sit all you'll need is rooting agent (on my profile of what it looks like), an cutting blade (sharp and flat cutting ege) , jiffy puck (on my profile of what it looks like) and some sort of thing that you can use as a green house , and a spray bottol that can mist , I usaly try to recomend to keep a mom or to if your trying to do a small grow and most people don't want to keep ordering beans. also if your ordering non fem seeds (reg 50% males 50% females) and your sexing them I'd just do a seed harvest. a 1 to 2 foot tal mom plant is perfect size if you wanna get a good amount of clones off of her but it givng you enough time to root clones and veg the mom
