So I popped open the tent the other day and noticed that one of my two Kessil 150 Magentas has gone "red"

It no longer has that trademark LED color?? It now looks as though it's red LED light??

Anyone ever had this happen?? If so is there a fix or do I now just have a weaker Kessil 150 that is only red light??

Sounds like one of the emitters in the blue string died. I'm not super familiar with kessils but you should be able to replace or bypass the burnt out diode and return function to it. Assuming it wasn't a 'catastrophic' failure where all the emitters on that string got burnt.

Thanks I'll have to pull it out of the tent and see if I can even get to the diodes?? It's a fairly compact unit...look up the kessil 150's to understand what I mean...

I think you're SOL unless you're proficient at reflow soldering. Didn't realize they were multi-chips.

Me either, but since they are billed as full spectrum or "fuller" spectrum with the magenta version..because they sell just red and just blue, maybe so...

Don't they have a long warranty?
One year :( and I know it's been at least that....even though the two I have, have not been in continuous use...they took about a 3 month hiatus when I was trying out a different lighting scheme...

Fortunately these are just additional lights for my tent, I rely on a California Light works 220 as my main light source.
