Killer Bagseed Grow!

Hey Everyone!

Anyway, this is my first grow. It's just some really killer bagseed from an unknown strain.

Currently the biggest plant is 6 weeks old (Let's call her Plant 1) whilst the other is around 4-5 weeks (Let's call her Plant 2). I am growing in a mixture of Coco-Peat and Perlite. Both are under a 600 Watt Grow Lush High Pressure Sodium bulb with a 600w ballast. All walls are painted flat white and I have a fan on them 18 hours.

My question to you all is, judging by the attached pictures, in your own opinions, how long do you think I have left of veggin' until I can start flowering. I haven't actually measured them either but they do look smaller in the pics then what they do in real life.

Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Peace.

P.S - If they look yellow it's because of that uber bright HPS.

I would personally wait until they are at least twice that size (judging by the pics) you do have a 600w HPS... Do you have a height restriction?

Yeah, I was thinking another solid 3-4 weeks then start flowering? I have a restriction of approximately 6 foot in my closet set up. However, i swear those pictures just don't do my babies justice, or maybe i'm just biassed

Thanx for the tip MajoR_ToKe

Looks like they got some nice tight node spacing for being vegged under your hps. How tall are they?

Just quickly went and measured.

Plant 1 is 5 1/2 inches tall from the top of the soil to the top leaf.

Plant 2 is 4 inches tall from the top of the soil to the top leaf.

Plant 1 however is alot more bushier and has alot more nodes producing.

I was actually a lil scared about how compact and tight the node spacing was, i was actually a little worried that it was inhibiting it's growth until about a week ago when they really started taking off.

By the way, they smell so skunky for such small plants.. fills the room with such a sweet skunk smell. So I suppose that's a good sign, right?

they look good and healthy you might want to wait a few more weeks but it all really depends on how tall you want them to b in the end really. usually when you put your plants into flower they will double or triple in size so keep that in mind. i have about 30 roughly the same size and i think im gonna wait atleast a few more weeks to flower but it all depends on the grower. good luck

Do you have any 5 7 or 9 fingered leaves?
looks like you could go a couple of months get some cfls and give them some light.

I don't grow in soil, but they don't look very tall for 5 and 6 weeks. At 6 weeks in hydro, mine are nearly twice that tall. Mine usually have very tight structures like yours, but it seems like they might be rootbound. I'm no expert though as I don't grow in soil.

When growing from seed, a good rule of thumb is to wait atleast a month for veg minimum, or when it's a foot tall.

Gotta remember though, the younger they are the more they'll stretch.

How big do you want your plants to be in the end? Flower at 1 foot, your roughly looking at a 2 foot tall plant by finish, could be taller or shorter depending mainly on strain.

I grow from seed in soil under a 400watt hps with no veg time at all and my plants are more than twice the size of yours at least and starting to bud and they are 3 weeks old.

I think that the real problem here is that you are not using a dual spectrum bulb and theres to much red in that light and a pathetic amount of blue for the veg.
Get a dual spectrum bulb;-)

This is a pic of my biggest 3 week old.
