King salmon fishing

I spent a wonderful day yesterday, fishing for wild King salmon outside the Golden Gate, on the fishing charter boat 'El Dorado'. We left the Berkeley docks at 6:00am & returned early with limits of beautiful King salmon. I had the added bonus of winning the $100 jackpot for catching the biggest fish of the day, 30lbs. I also caught a 20lb'er for a cool 50lbs of fresh wild salmon. They will fillet them for you when they reach the dock. I took home about 25lbs of fillets. With a market price of $20 a pound, this trip paid for itself. I'm firing-up both the BBQ & the smoker today. Now's the time to go fella's!

P.S. I never get tired of seeing the Golden Gate bridge!

Those weren't my rods in the pictures.
I have a Penn500 on a Fenwick Hotstik, loaded with 25lb line.

Awesome! Nothing like fresh caught seafood! That's the only time I actually enjoy the taste.

Great catch too, 30lbs is a big fish! Thanks for sharing!
