Also some advice KC... that 17th leaf from the second top left row? it's about .06cm further away from the light than it should be........ yeeesshhh.. also. just from the leaf look.. i'm gonna say your humidity is .0000005% lower than what it should be............................................... GOD I thought you were supposed to be good at this!?!?!??!?!?!? :P :P

I know Cloudi ... I gotta get my shit together, haha. Considering this garden gets about 2-3 hours a week of work, I think we`re doing alright ;). Thanks for stopping in mate and the smile :p

So looking in the tent this morning gave me a couple revelations about mainlining a multi-cola structured strain like the Cataracts. As of right now, I`d say the more you destroy them, the more they want to put out firstly. Of the Bunch, Leader is most like a typical ML, but Mohican looks like it`ll be the heavist yielder at this point, going crazy these last few days.

Leaving the tight undernodes on Mohican has made each attached branch more vigorous in growth with the nodes spaced out slightly longer, but bulkier, and forming better than the rest thus far ... (remember, she was the last to show sex) now is leading in flower production. Seems like Leader has a little bit of stretch in her yet, and I`ve decided too leave a few undernodes to do their thing their as well. Mrs. O is by far the least developed with just her 4-headed design (in terms of stretch and side-branching), she`s showing the most Kush traits of them. Leads me to believe her buds will be pretty dense (lower cola number = higher density?). Her colas are forming at a good rate however, and her height is of no concern now.

Purpose of the experiment was to determine the most efficient way to ML a strain that does NOT show single-cola dominance like NugBuckets suggests ... and I`m finding that perhaps using tight internodal stacking is the best method for these types of strains, while retaining the 2-into-4 nutrient feed branches the ML is known for (the Manifold). We`ll see by the end which formula would be best while keeping the different phenos this seed run provided in mind (Leader, more LA Con, Mohican, almost 50/50 perfect, Mrs O, more OG dom)

Will be back in a short bit to post pic of the day guys. Have a good one, top tokin`, and keep it green,

Damn, your thread is active KC! Been inactive on the forum for the past few days and had some catching up to do. Glad to hear the girls are continuing to thrive and more importantly you are gaining knowledge from your experiment. Kudos.

Haha, thank you Yankee! Was hoping the thread would stay active, means people might be gaining something from it :). Andif you`re not gaining knowledge from each grow, you`re doing something wrong ... always something new to try/test/experiment with. Thanks for poppin` in buddy,

Here`s today`s daily shots, had to focus on the girl of conversation today, Mohican. Here`s how she`s forming up,

IMG-20130522-00597.jpg
From the top. Can still barely see the N burned, CaMg deficient leaves on the few under leaves, but the new growth couldn`t be happier now that we have a mix she likes  ...

IMG-20130522-00598.jpg IMG-20130522-00599.jpg
... and some shots of her bud stacking and a nice top forming up, resin spreading and forming on the leaves now as well. Nice potential here

Good seeig and hearing from everyone, thanks again to you guys for keeping the thread active and keeping the good information flowing. Keep it green guys,

KC :weed:

OK so there are strains which do not show single cola dominance, I'd be interested in a pointer to what strains these were, obviously these strains here, hence your experiment, but such strains would naturally lend themselves to SCROG grows etc ? makes sense. Looking great Kush.

Thanks for stopping in Bilbo, good question. Loads of Sativa dominant stuff (as well as hybrids) shows the single, spiral colas you tend to see, whereas the more Indica-based cuts tend to be `fighters` I like to say. Meaning each individual branch would fight to be biggest, prime examples are most heavy or true-breed kush varieties, Great White Shark, Blueberry (depending on phenos), Trainwreck, etc. Basically the tighter the internodal spacing, the more likely to not fit the single cola dominant description (think Haze crosses and C99 kind of stuff). Feel free to further inquire Bilbo if you need it further cleared for ya :)

I'm pretty much noticing the same things you are with the undernodes and leaving vegetation and branches to do their thing. I'm really glad I started to mess around with the main-line and start to experiment with leaving further growth. I just find that this time now that I have left a complete canopy of leafs and some branches to completely fill in the entire top, everything is growing almost faster than I can tie it down and train it. I just can't believe how much more vigorous this Skunk#1 is, even with all the extra growth sucking up more of the nutrients. It is obviously all the extra leafs providing more energy for the plant, but I just didn't think I was slowing her down THAT much. I guess that's why we all try different things out and keep experimenting. I thought I had hit the jackpot with finding main-lining, now I know I can even expand a little on it to speed things up. If I just wanted to leave a little extra growth to speed things up and then maybe do a good trim, or maybe do a trim in certain steps to try and reduce the stress of a big clearing. I'm so glad I found this thread just can't tell you how much I enjoy the read everyday, and to find someone doing what I am at the moment, that was the latest jackpot. Good luck, Good grow, Be safe, :peace: out.

Another day, another update. Day 14/7 of Flower for the ladies, everybody is starting to finish up their stretch and focus on bud development now, the PK boost next feeding will really put things into overdrive. Here`s a shot of the ladies this fine, cool, breezy morning,

IMG-20130523-00600.jpg
... getting so formed up now I can hardly squeeze them into a shot together. Leader has had the most stretch, but her colas are twice as developed as yesterday, she`s very low on water, drinking a ton and quickly now. Also take note of BuKu`s top I half-ass FIM`d by accident is now growing very interestingly, haha, but the undergrowth has gone nuts, so I think it worked, we might just get a funky top (might be good!).

Thanks for poppin` by, will do the Weekly update tomorrow at some point for you guys. Keep it green, top tokin`!

Thanks guys, shouldn`t be too long now before they form up nice. Supposed to be lower yield than the OG I`m used to, we`ll see how it stacks up by week 5 I`d guess, few weeks to go. Only minor work everyday now, keeping temps in check, so far so good :)

Hey guys, update day! End of week 2 is here, girls are looking thirsty. About to head into the room and do some work, wanted to post the feeding schedule for reference on here. This feeding looks like this / Gallon distilled:

15ml PB ProBloom (3 teaspoons)
5ml CalMag (1 teaspoon)
1.25ml Silica Blast (quarter teasoon)
5ml PK13-14 (1 teaspoon)

Will be back in about an hour after feeding and some photos to give the update. Stick around guys ;)

... Cough ... cough ... What`s up guys, smoking testing for a fellow grower today, popped by for a visit with a few strains. This Amnesia haze has got me all fucked up, haha. Anyways, took about an hour just to give Jill a good shearing (really good shearing), not to mention mix nutrients, water, etc. Have lots of photos this time, said I`d try to scale back, but this is my favourite time of growth for sure (something about bud production in weeks 2-4 ;)). My bad guys. Anyways ... Ladies!!

Group Shots from Day 15/8, pre-water, prune, etc.

IMG-20130524-00604.jpgIMG-20130524-00605.jpg
And here`s Leader, looking proper stretched out (have a feeling the high heat contributed to this)...

IMG-20130524-00606.jpg IMG-20130524-00607.jpg
... some trunk shots. Nice and thick, nutrient tunnel  ...

IMG-20130524-00608.jpg IMG-20130524-00609.jpg IMG-20130524-00611.jpg
... forming tops, stacking and the only leachers I left on only 1 stalk. A nice canopy shot to finish, think she`s really going to love the PK blast ...

IMG-20130524-00613.jpgIMG-20130524-00614.jpg
... and here`s Mrs. O, still determined to show me she`s got something for me ;)

IMG-20130524-00615.jpg IMG-20130524-00616.jpg
The thickest trunk of the bunch, her capabilities are definitely there. Second shot show where our head had to be detached, two in it`s place ...

IMG-20130524-00617.jpg IMG-20130524-00618.jpg
... top shot and internode stacking...

... main 2 tops and their stage of production, nice for end of week 2 ...

IMG-20130524-00626.jpg
... Mohican, looking just excellent. Loving how she battles to fight the split I created, she knows I`m sorry... and here is Jill before any of her work, way too dense in there for the 400 to penetrate that much ... see too much larf forming ... not on my watch ... ;)
IMG-20130524-00627.jpg IMG-20130524-00628.jpg IMG-20130524-00629.jpg
... stem structure and right/left arms and some of our branching ...

IMG-20130524-00630.jpg IMG-20130524-00631.jpg
... our 4-heads and the other 3 ... yum, yum ...

IMG-20130524-00632.jpg IMG-20130524-00635.jpg IMG-20130524-00637.jpg
... absolutely lovely stacking on her, she`s got my eye for sure. Last picture is for stature reference, sitting about 12-15 inches tall out of her container ...

IMG-20130524-00636.jpg
... lovely bud development here for 2 weeks

IMG-20130524-00638.jpgIMG-20130524-00640.jpg
...and here is Jill before any of her work, way too dense in there for the 400 to penetrate that much ... see too much larf forming ... not on my watch ... ;)

IMG-20130524-00641.jpg IMG-20130524-00642.jpg IMG-20130524-00643.jpg
... some of the density, left and right heads ...

IMG-20130524-00644.jpg IMG-20130524-00645.jpg
... decent stem structure, cola formations (haven`t come on really hard yet like the others, within the week)

IMG-20130524-00638.jpgIMG-20130524-00650.jpg

IMG-20130524-00651.jpg IMG-20130524-00652.jpg
And a before and after picture along with shots of some training, and the pile of excess (to be used for compost later )

IMG-20130524-00646.jpg
... and the BuKu who is a week behind the others. Still growing and stretching which I like, placed her a touch higher (3-4in) to get some more lumenage now ...

IMG-20130524-00648.jpg IMG-20130524-00647.jpg IMG-20130524-00649.jpg
... her crazy cabbage head, shot ofstance, and the super nice signature BuKu leaves. Just love em` ...

IMG-20130524-00653.jpg
... and a rearranged group shot to leave you guys with for the end of week 2, after feeding ...

... phew, big one today, thanks for rolling in guys, the party is about to hit full-swing within 2 weeks. Glad to have you guys on board, love the feedback. Stay tuned, keep it green,
