First off, here are some of the items you need...Distilled water..syringe w/needle..coffee cup..spore print or prints..pan for boiling water..and a zip-loc bag for puttin in the fridge too cool.

Now just take your pan and put about an inch of D.water in, and cook on High till it comes to a full boil(this will kill any contams, and forign spores)

shut off.. and if using a new syringe and needle..(wearing gloves)and screw the needle tip on and fill the syringe with the boiling water(it might take a couple plunges..just squeeze the air out holding the needle straight up..and finish filling up..

now put the cap on the needle and place in a zip-loc and put in the fridge for about 30 min or till cool..Once cool, I spray down the area I will be making the syringe with Oust air sanatizer...now take your coffee cup and clean out with alcohol and now you will need your spore prints and a knife.

I am using 5 prints because they are pretty small, and besides..when its done it will only take about 8 drops per jar..lol Take the knife and lightly scrape the spores in the coffee cup until the print or prints are gone..BTW..I am using Koh Samui prints for this syringe..now that all of your spores are in the cup...when you are done, it wont look like much..but it is!!

plunge the water in the syringe into the cup..and suck it back into the syringe about 3 times..or until all of the spores are gone..when you are done..flame steralize the syringe and put the cap back on..and back into the zip-loc bag for atleast 8 hrs before using so the spored can re-hydrate. Now you know how to make your own spore syringe!! Here is the finished syringe..

you used all of the spores from the 5 prints to make that syringe?
Ive only got the print that got me started with this and the print i took last week.
i think ill use the whole print i took recently

i just finished mine up...nowhere near as dark as yours but there are definately spores in them.

i used about 1/4th of my print since the syringes are so tiny and had spores covering the bottom of the mug
but i only managed to suck up about half of that
i sucked them up and spit them back out a few times trying to get all of those precious spores but always left behind plenty.

and my coffee mug was too tall so i couldnt reach the bottom very well...lesson learned

Well..I know there is alot of ppl like me that like a little variety in thier life. I know when I started growing them I did it because that was the only way I was going to get em. I found out through growing...its pretty easy!! And it only takes a month from start to finish. The way I look at it is..if you have the know how...share it! Its not an expensive hobby either..just a PC...and $13 for a syringe..grow my fellow tokers! :)

Now I'm a complete noob to all of this shroom growing, so just because I'm a little slow, what is the advantage of getting spore prints instead of spore syringes (when buying them)?

Oh, that's what I figured, but I wasn't sure. Do you have a guide to getting prints from shrooms? Or is that not possible?

cut a fresh mushroom cap off and place it on a sterile piece of foil gills down..then place in an airtight container(I use ziploc twist n loc containers) for about 8hrs and bam...you have a print! Place the print in a ziploc and store till ready to use..

Ya taking prints is really easy. You take take prints from almost any type of freshly picked mushrooms. I like to pick wild ones just to take prints of, and see what they look like. I havn't gotten a field guide yet, but once I do, I know that the prints are a vital part of identifying wild mushrooms!
