I think I found the next issue for the right, men in beauty contests must be made illegal!

(quoting from different thread)

Affirmative action used as revenge for owning the libs

The legality won’t be an issue here, especially since recently updated constitution but yeah this may spark conservatives elsewhere to put the genie back in the bottle.

The person quoted in the article seems to get more exposure outside NL than in. Was on Tucker’s show too. She’s a village idiot and treated as such. “Considering the fact that we live in a post-Truth world”, says the mascot for the failed far-right anti-vax party trying to import ideas about WHO, WEF, repopulation etc etc from the craziest magats.

We had a transgender winning Holland’s next top model twice and it seems the majority of people simply don’t care. Twitter being the go-to social media for what we call wappies (wackos) spilling their hate isn’t representitive and she (the winner) should simply not read. “Sparking outrage on Twitter”… nowadays that means you’re doing something right. Her position is populist but anything but popular.

It’s not as much tolerance than it is indifference though. Suggesting it matters what someone “has between his or her legs” implies it’s relevant to you and thus want to engange in sexual activity. Not like haters can argue she has a physical (male) advantage, this isn’t volleyball.

Another factor playing a role is that the whole circus is like european song festival very popular among lgtb+ (i don’t keep up with the different letters across the globe). Nobody, no man, no woman, appreciates female beauty - especially the traditional cliches you also see exaggerated in drag queens - more than transwoman.

And of course the haters use the worst snapshots instead of more flattering pics.

Indifference is often the most honest sort of tolerance. Something that does not matter is automatically normal(ized).

Reminds me of another transgender who contributed a lot to the discussion about transgenders in NL, Kelly van de Veer. Contestant of the 3rd season of Big Brother, in 2001 (a dutch invention, sorry about that). After sex scenes (a la Jersey Shore) in the first seasons people were hoping for more. So everyone (millions of households…) was excited when they saw Kelly, a long haired babe, enter the show.

(bit older in this pic, she was barely in her twenties at the time)

Everyone wanted to see Kelly hook up with another contestant and when that was about to happen, she said wait, I got to tell you something first: “I was born a man”. The guy didn’t seem to care much, though they didn’t end up doing much. For months to follow though the main question in public debate was “would you f*ck Kelly?” Basically we have given it a lot of thought and serious consideration on a national level.

Some say she took it too far afterwards and fueled some stereotypes, personally I believed her when she said she’s just following dreams and those stereotypes aren’t actually negative, mostly just christian judgement. See the answer for more people than you’d might expect was “hell yeah I’d definitely tap that”. They‘d be disgusted by bearded women with low voices but Kelly…

She went on to become a webcam girl with nearly daily commercials on national TV, and pornstar and Playboy cover girl and worked as a prostitute behind a window in the RDL for a while, where fans who answered with yes to that popular question could make that reality. Now that’s freedom. Not only can you change sex to match gender, you can be a total hedonistic sl*t. No need to behave like the idea of a woman those who oppose transgenders have.
