Alright so I just got back from lowes and opened my veg room to find a lady bug chilling on my plant. I'm in New England and it has been a lil unseasonably warm the past 2 days but I didn't know enough to bring ladybug on my plant. Unless you say otherwise, Ill take it as good luck.

You can never have too many Lady Bugs....
I used to buy them at HD every year, until they quit selling them....

honestly ladies bugs have never worked for me, 10+ years. they only eat spider mites as a secondary option, and eggs are even lower on the food chain. plus those little bastards hide in your soil(if thats what your doing), so a systemic mite killer may be the best option. only thing thats ever been 100% successfull for me is neem/karanja oil mix with yucca extracts, a newer product called sns 217, and something thats new to me, quantum apocalypse from entomo419.com. if you feed your soil neem, your gonna need to add some kind of beneficial microbes back in after. as far as mites go, start from seed/clone and assume they always have them. good prevention techniques will save your behind a lot and you wont ever know ;-).. ive wasted lots of money in this war, but i(we) will win[h=1][/h]

if they work for you thats awesome though, after a few failed early grows because of mites, i never used lady bugs again. knock on wood, i cant remember a recent year that they've come back, prevention is key. now if you get some aphids, lady bugs are gonna destroy them, they love them over mites any day. predator mites work well too, make sure you get at least two kinds, hopefully all 3. they all thrive in defferent inviroments, so look into it some if you go that route.
