Large Scale grow

I was wondering what the best option would be for a large scale grow. I'm talking from 100 plants up. I have noticed that most commercial growers (500 plants + ) still use soil.

Does anyone with experience in areo and DWC have an opinion on this?

Is areo or DWC hard to maintain?

thank you

Soil is the most forgiving, when dealing with that many plants... you need all the leeway possible.

Large scale hydro is definitely do-able. I'd suggest staying away from aero... that's a lot of misters/pumps with way too many possible points of failure.

I'd go more towards the ebb/flow style. Only a few major pumps, and have back-ups ready.

Wow man. I couldn't imagine growing 500 plants INDOORS (?) with soil. Are you doing a sea of green or growing large plants?

If sea of green I would go with a home made, available from many tutorials online, nft or recirculating dwc using 4" pipes or fence posts(pvc of course). You wont be going wrong. Can you dump soild for 500 plants or less lol every two months. thats a lot of buildup.

My suggestion is growing large plants. Yielding 1/2 to whole pound each and I would use the 'ebb and grow' system. Each one you purchase is good for a max of 48 plants in their own buckets.

pm me if you need further advice.
