Latest youve used serenade?

When was latest in the flowering cycle that you have used serenade. How did it affect the bud? I got 2 plants 7 weeks into flowering and the powdery mildew started spreading onto the bud so i just sprayed em. not too heavily but enough to get me concerned. and this serenade shit smells pretty foul. can you taste it or smell it on the bud after harvest?
