  • this is my first real indoor grow and i have a auto berry ryder at about 2 weeks old under 150w hps and the leaf edges are starting to curl up, what could this be from and what should i do any help

bottom leaves started to curl first and i just let it be, now this morning i realized a few points on the side of the bigger leaves are starting to curl a bit, what do i do and why is this happening
humidity was low of 20-30 rh for first week now i have it at 30-40rh could this be why the leaves were starting to curl.. this is my best guess

Hello,

first of all HPS is not good for veg. You should try CFL's in the 6000K+ spectrum or a MH light bulb. What are the temps? Place your hand over the plant. If it is hot that is probably it. What distance is the HPS from the plant? Another thing could be ferilizers. Did u fed it any? What soil do you use?

Humidity should be 60-70 for veg.

i used cfls for first week and a half.. i cant find anythiing better then 1500 lumens a bulb 6700k... so instead of trying to fit 4 cfls around a little plant i just said screw it and hooked up the hps... and this is auto flower so i should be fine with hps for rest of grow? my temps during day are between 78-82 max, light is about 9-10 inches close.... havnt fed it anything yet i want to start using a little bit of fox farms grow big not sure when and how much per litre of water.... so do you think the low humidity is causeing leaves to start to curl.. RH is 32 right now i put a bowl of water in there hopefully gonna make it better.. and any help with nute question is apprechiated thanks guys

Well HPS gives more of the spectrum that plant needs when is it flowering. For veg and leaf grow the blue 6000K+ spectrum is better. I have an auto bubblelicious ~2 weeks old and it has one more set of leaves(with 5 leaves) and I see developed 2 more nodes. I sould get 3 18W CFL. At about 1100 lumens and place above the plant. I have seen a difference between using one CFL of 1150 lumens and 2 CFL of 1100 lumens. The difference between them was great. Long story short I would recommend 2-3 CFLs of ~1100 Lumens each at about 5-6 cm from the plant. The right light is very important for an auto. You can't leave it another 2-3 weeks in veg if you screw something up becouse of it's predetermined life cycle. How hot is it if you place your hand over the plant for 20-30 seconds?

And if you are using FOX FARM soil, it is a bit strong for new plants.
