Leaf tip curled up AND down

Hey All-

I just received this plant from a friend and it's currently in isolation (Pinapple Chunk). I noticed the tips were curled up and down, plus the leaf itself is a "taco" shape. I don't know her history and have had her for 10 days now. I'm thinking maybe a healthy flush and then back on some organics? Your thoughts?

I just spoke with my bro and he stated the plants I got were just sprayed with fish emulsion the night before (spider mites). Inspecting the leaf more closely, I can see shiny spots, almost like water marks from the spray he used. Do you think this could cause this affect? Also noticed that the new growth is taking on the same characteristics as the established leaves. Given that, I'm wondering if it's something other than the spray?

I always thought Fish Emulsion was a fertilizer, I don't know why he would have sprayed it for mites.
Did he give any info on feed and water habits?

Yeah I hear ya, but trust me, I got the plants 12 hours later and he pointed out all the dead lil' aholes. VERY effective, but STINKY!

Unfortunately it could be the spray as i have tried a little bit of homemade spray and gotten Taco leaf myself so start with a flush and while you are waiting you should keep an eye on the bad leaves to see if they are going away/getting better.

I've gotten that claw look from over watering also ... I'm assuming you have good drainage?

Hey All-

I have to say this forum is like a free horticultural college, just nothing but good "nugs" of info and people. I would use the word "free info", but my Girls keep me damn busy...especially when you're on the learning curve...so I work my butt off :bigjoint: To all above, THANK YOU!!!

So in summary, here are the symptoms I'm experiencing with curled leaf tips and "clawing" :

CLAWING - Has the looks of an upside down taco and is the result of too many nutes or overwatering.

Also listed for clawing, is possibly too much N (Nitrogen) or even a pH imbalance, the cure = FLUSH

Another affect could be due to the spray, something I will have to experiment with later to confirm

Again, thank you all! I'm headed out to bath my ladies and will give a full report as I progress through this.

Hey All-

I read all your suggestions and want to thank you all! I performed a detailed flush, where I would only pour 1 gallon at a time, then measure temp (only on the first gallon), pH and TDS.

A quick summary:

*I will perform this test on all my ladies once as a baseline. Nothing better than having data to determine root cause!

---Use pure water, baselined all specs (as mentioned above) ...See attached picture of my Excel data on the test.
---Flush and measure after each gallon
---Noted that the first gallon poured, only a little over half came back. This will vary depending on how thirsty your lady was. Each gallon thereafter
increased as expected.
---Of course, after each flush the numbers got better. If you were to overlay the charts, when pH is high, TDS is low and vise-versa (See pic attachment of the Excel data).

This is the Excel Data:

---I will submit a picture of the "soon to be" vibrant woman in the coming days.

Thank you again for all the feedback and advise.

That may have also been a function of too many nutrients also. There's alot of ways overwatering can cause too many nutrients for the plant, especially if there's time release or dissolving nutrients in the soil. Overwatering dissolves way too many of them.

It also may be the change in environment, when you change the lights a plant gets it goes into shock, and if you didn't know how to care for that correctly you could get this.
